You are suddenly granted a superpower. You get to replace two of the 46th Presidents Cabinet members. they could be from the 45th's Cabinet or anyplace else!

You only get 2

but the replacements bypass Senate hearings and confirmation and immediately replace the departed.

Fell free to act by fiat or to explain your choices.

So the media blasts Orange Man for restricting travel, but it's okay when Grandpa Joe does it?

I'm not sure it will do any good, but it's a start.

If the Administration really feels there is an ongoing genocide and crimes against humanity going on there then they should not send the athletes. That is the only way to send a message and honestly, I'm guessing it would lead to many countries not sending their athletes.

That's a pretty tough pill for athletes that have been preparing for 4 years for this opportunity. Many only get one shot. It would certainly send a strong message, there's no doubt about that.

Agree, not sending the athletes would send a huge message, but that was never going to happen. Joe doesn't have the hangy down things to do something like that. I remember when the US boycotted the '80 Olympics. Carter took so much crap for his decision even though there were a lot of countries who also participated in the boycott.

Much like Orange Man's rulings that got challenged in court, Joe is finding out he has the same problem with his COVID mandate.

Those courts are the only check we have right now on excessive power by the Executive branch. I'm grateful for these rulings.

Biden’s democracy summit flawed, but it’s put Russia, China and Cuba on the defensive | Opinion BY ANDRES OPPENHEIMER DECEMBER 08, 2021 6:50 PM

.I was a skeptic about President Biden’s 110-country “Summit for Democracy.” But after watching the unusually furious response to this meeting from China, Russia, Cuba and other dictatorships, I’m beginning to think it’s a good idea. The two-day virtual summit, which begins Dec. 9, has struck a nerve among authoritarian regimes. For the first time in several years, it has put them they are on the defensive. In a rare joint editorial in The National Interest magazine, the ambassadors of Russia and China to the United States said that “China and Russia firmly reject this move.”

They claimed that, “Democracy is not a prerogative of a certain country or a group of countries,” adding that, “It can be realized in multiple ways, and no model can fit all countries.” China’s State Council, the country’s top government institution, issued a statement last weekend entitled, “China: Democracy that works.” Cuba’s foreign minister, Bruno Rodriguez, tweeted that Biden’s summit is “selective” and “a show of weakness by the United States.” He claimed that U.S. foreign policy is “discredited” and losing support at the United Nations.

In a recent column, I questioned whether Mexico and Argentina, whose presidents had earlier refused to condemn Nicaragua’s fraudulent Nov. 7 elections, should be allowed to sit at the same table with Switzerland and Denmark. (I suggested that Mexico and Argentina be invited, but be placed at the end of the schedule.) Others criticize the decision not to invite El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras, saying that this will push these countries closer to China and Russia, without doing anything to improve democracy. Others lament the summit’s timing. “Latin American countries are reeling from the pandemic and economic crises, and need China,” says Michael Shifter, head of the Washington-based Inter-American Dialogue think tank. “I don’t know any leader in Latin America who is interested in joining an anti-China global crusade right now.”

Increasingly, more countries are veering toward leftist and rightist authoritarianism, according to the Freedom House 2021 ranking of democracies.. The report is appropriately entitled, “Democracy under siege.” And threats against democracy are growing. Fake news from Russia is undermining Western democracies, and China’s technological advances in facial recognition, voice recognition and internet censorship are being adopted by new autocrats around the world. Many of them are seduced by China’s claim that its totalitarian regime is a “democracy that works.” The Biden administration and the European Union have recently created a U.S.-E.U. Trade and Technology Council, to try to prevent fake news, hacking and cyber-attacks. This effort must be expanded to other parts or the world, supporters of the Summit for Democracy say. They may be right. Biden’s pro-democracy meeting may be flawed in many aspects, but unless democracies team up to protect themselves from China, Russia and their allies, techno-dictatorships will thrive, and basic freedoms will continue to be eroded across the world.

China watching Biden give Russia (Who is the Russian asset again?) free roam over Ukraine is a signal to China that we will just spend money on stupid shit if they invade Taiwan and beat down Hong Kong further.

Joe means business. Better stock up on your Vodka.

Biden said that he was "straightforward" but "polite" in Tuesday's meeting.

"But I made very clear: If in fact he invades Ukraine, there will be severe consequences," Biden said. "Economic consequences like none he has ever seen."

Damnit! That unabashed Sorosianwokieglobalistlibtard Cramer is ruining things:

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/12/08/cra...ing-20s-type-boom-as-covid-concerns-ease.html

It appears that the Chicken Little lobby will have a bad Christmas (that's the dey we celebrate the nativity of Jesus, the christ) in 2022.

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/12/08/cra...ing-20s-type-boom-as-covid-concerns-ease.html

CNBC’s Jim Cramer said Wednesday the U.S. economy looks like it has the potential to boom as Covid concerns ease much like it did after the 1918 flu pandemic receded. “I think we could go to a period where we have an economic boom not unlike post-World War I,” he said.
Closely following the end of the war, the U.S. started to see its first cases of what would become the 1918 flu pandemic. But as that pandemic, more than 100 years ago, started to let up in the early 1920s, the U.S. economy and the stock market ushered in the Roaring 20s.
Industrial production doubled from 1921 until just before the 1929 stock market crash, according to historical data compiled by Yardeni Research.
Direct comparisons to present day gross domestic product, the benchmark for measuring economic growth, are difficult as comprehensive economic record-keeping started in earnest after World War II.
However, Ed Yardeni told CNBC the U.S. economy in the 1920s was largely industrial and production figures are a relatively fair comparison to modern day GDP.

Shut yo' mouth Jimmy!

For Strong men and strong women only
And ONLY those who are asskickin' name taking enterpreneurs

This post is not for the whiners or the haters.
Whiners whine
bitches bitch
enterpreneurs make money (as in Vulture capitalism and buying real estate when there is blood in the street)

Inflation happens. The trick, is how can you make it work FOR you

If there are any bond traders on here, you are making long calls on interest and inflation. And if you loaded up on the 30 year bond in the early 80's well, how's your malibu condo?

I was in financial services in the 80's. I was just starting to get money, but we had a money market fund, managed by, well, a lansman, and some of the bond fund guys were from the same tribe.

There wasn't just inflation, there was the platypus of interest rate phenomena an inverted yield curve.

And the big boys started borrowing from the cards at 18% and putting money in the money market fund at 19.5%.

the money market fund had no front or back load so they would boom, withdraw, (playing float on their checks in a different, less electronic era) and then reborrow from the credit CARDS..
their credit was first rate, credit card companies were going nuts and they could move a lot of money.

and they bought nice cars with the profits before the music stopped.

Again, this messaqe is for strong men and women only.

And God bless Bob Dole.....

.
https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing...l-tribute-ceremony-for-senator-robert-j-dole/

THE PRESIDENT: Vice President Harris, Speaker Pelosi, Majority Leader Schumer, Minority Leader McConnell, members of Congress, distinguished guests, but most importantly, Elizabeth and Robin — I know this is not easy. Thank you for letting us do this.

We meet here in the very heart of American democracy, the Capitol of the United States of America, to receive a hero of that democracy for a final time: Robert Joseph Dole. He belongs here, in this place, in this temple of liberty — to liberty and to — temple to possibilities.

Bob Dole loved this Capitol. It’s where he served the nation, shaped by the figures that surround us: Washington and Jefferson, who set us on our path; Abraham Lincoln, another man who — from the Heartland of the country from whence he came; Bob’s hero, Dwight David Eisenhower; Martin Luther King, Jr., whom Bob helped pass legislation honoring the great civil rights leader with a federal holiday — Bob stood up and got that done; Gerald Ford, who served here and with whom Bob sought the vice presidency of the United States.

In a sentence: Bob belongs here. He too was a giant of our history — and that’s not hyperbole; it’s real — of wit and grace, of principle and persistence, of courage and conviction.

I had the great honor of serving with Bob, as many of you around this casket have. I served with him for 25 years.

He did have great wit. They once asked him why in God’s name did he vote to continue to fund Amtrak. He said because if he didn’t, “Biden would stay overnight and cause more trouble.” (Laughter.) I commuted every day. (Laughs.) It’s a true story. He was the deciding vote.

Well, you know, Bob and I — like many of us here — we disagreed on a number of things but not on any of the fundamental things. We still found a way to work together.

We genuinely — we genuinely respected one another as colleagues and as fellow Americans. It was real; it wasn’t fake. And we became great friends.

And because Bob deserves the final word, I’d like to read a portion of his final message that he left to the country that I hope we all listen to in the days and weeks and months to come.

And I quote Bob Dole:

“I cannot pretend that I have not been a loyal champion [of] my party, but [I’ve] always served my country best when I did [it] so first and foremost as an American.”

“When we prioritize principles over party and humanity over personal legacy” — when we do that, we “accomplish far more as a nation. By leading with shared faith in each other, we become America at its best.” He went on to say, “a beacon of hope, a source of comfort in crisis, a shield against those who threaten freedom.”

“Our nation has certainly faced periods of division. But at the end of the day, we have always found ways to come together. We can find that unity again.”

And then the message said, end of message.

My fellow Americans, America has lost one of our greatest patriots. We may follow his wisdom, I hope, and his timeless truth. But the truth of the matter is: As divided as we are, the only way forward for democracy is unity, consensus — the only way. May we follow his wisdom and his timeless truth and reach consensus on the basic fundamental principles we all agree on.

May God bless Bob Dole. May God bless America. And may God protect our troops.

This logic is bogus for most. You're assuming average Joe citizen knows something about investments, the market, bonds...much less has the disposable income to even venture into these areas. The reality is he doesn't have the experience, knowledge, or cash to make this work for him. He's stuck eating the higher prices for the most part.

Some facts, some truth, some progress

https://fortune.com/2021/11/10/us-b...on-in-october-down-42-percent-from-last-year/

The U.S. budget deficit fell to $165 billion in October, down 42% from last year
The U.S. monthly budget deficit fell in October as the government collected more taxes from individuals and corporations thanks to a much improved economy emerging from the coronavirus pandemic.

The Treasury Department reported Wednesday that the federal government posted a deficit of $165 billion last month. That was 42% lower than the same month last year when it rang up a record October deficit of $284.1 billion as revenues declined while spending to deal with the impact of the coronavirus soared.

This October, the first month on the government’s calendar for fiscal 2022, spending fell 14% from last year to $449 billion, while revenues rose 19% to an October record of $284 billion.

Treasury officials said Wednesday that the lower October deficit this year was attributable to more tax revenue from millions more people back working, and booming corporate profits as the economy reopened. Last October, there were still no vaccines and many businesses suffered as people remained holed up at home.

Before the deficit ballooned during two years of a global pandemic, the biggest deficit had been a shortfall of $1.4 trillion in 2009. At that time, the U.S. was spending heavily to lift the country out of a severe recession following the 2008 financial crisis.

The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office expects the deficit will fall to $1.15 trillion in the current budget year, which began Oct. 1, and will dip below $1 trillion for three years from 2023 through 2025 before rising again above $1 trillion for each year through 2031.

"TRump won" Tshirts and bumper stickers

"Stop the Steal"

Still around, live on people and cars. Sheeple are sheeple, easily manipulated

And one wonders about sources:

key excerpts:

An Election Conspiracy Theorist Responsible for Circulating Batshit Coup PowerPoint Spoke Several Times with Meadows and the Trump White House: Report

and this gem

He also briefed lawmakers on the presentation the night before the Capitol riot.

A person responsible for circulating the presentation, cybersecurity consultant Phil Waldron, spoke with Meadows “maybe eight to 10 times” and was part of a team that briefed several members of Congress on a version of the PowerPoint the night before the January 6 insurrection. Waldron told the Post that his presentation argued there was “significant foreign interference in the election” and recommended “constitutional, legal, feasible, acceptable and suitable courses of action.” (In fact, scholars say there was no legal basis for Pence to intervene in the electoral vote-counting process, as the Post lays out; ballot recounts and legal challenges have failed to turn up any evidence of significant fraud.)

SIGNIFICANT FOREIGN INTERFERENCE IN THE ELECTION

Phil Waldron of course, was brilliiant in the epic film "Absolute Proof" from the Spielberg/ the Demille, the Jonathan Demme of the batshit right
Mike "maybe I did too much Coke" Lindell

In the documentary, Lindell hosts numerous cybersecurity experts and anonymous persons whose testimony, he claims, supports his claim that Chinese and Iranian hackers hacked into voting machines and switched votes from Trump to Biden on Election Day.[SUP][3]

Ah that should rally the angry whiteys, bringing in YELLOW (Chinese) and Mocha Java (IRANIAN) villains into it!

I believe film critics talk of an "ensemble cast"
and angry Phil was part of the roster:[/SUP]
  • Mike Lindell
  • Brannon Howse
  • Mary Fanning[SUP][1][/SUP]
  • Phil Waldron[SUP][4][/SUP]
  • Matthew DePerno[SUP][5][/SUP]

On the bright side, knowing that B&F reads MotherJones...well that puts things into perspective. I'm now convinced he also subscribes to the Palmer Report and probably some newsletter Maddow puts together to get an extra dollar a week from The Resistance Karens.
