For a few years Southern Tier has come out with a Seasonal beer called Pumking.

Obviously, from its name one can deduce that it is a Pumkin flavored beer. It is the best pumkin beer i've ever had. It tastes like you're eating pumkin pie or pumkin bread. For those 'real men' who say "I dont want this, I drink real beer"-- this beer is 9% ABV so it is no joke.

I had it at the Bishops Collar in Philly. Practically all distributors in our area are sold out because Souther Tier didnt plan accordingly. Many distributors got slighted on their deliveries and only got 2-4 cases (12 22oz bottles).

I found a six-pack store yesterday that sells them by the bottle. I bought 4 at about $10-12 a piece (my friend wanted 2). I probably won't drink them until ND game Saturday or may wait til MLB playoffs. If the same strore still has them today I may head back over and buy 6 more.

Long, unneccessary story short--- I recommend if you see it in the store to purchase this deliciously flavored beer.

Yesterday I bought one of those little kegs of Paulaner's Oktoberfest Amber Ale. Saving it for the weekend, as I will be turning 40 and of course Notre Dame will be playing. I figure, I will drink and be merry and enjoy a victory.., or I will drink and be merry and just enjoy watching our young team continue to develop and drown in my sorrows. lol.

1. Guinness (If it wasn't so expensive, I would never drink anything else)
2. Mackeson's XXX Milk Stout (Only had it one time but it changed my life. Cannot find it anywhere unfortunately)
3. Schlafly's Scotch Ale (A local St. Louis brewery. Very good if anyone has a chance to try it)
4. Leinenkugel's Creamy Dark (Used to drink it all the time, but it's no longer sold in Southern Illinois. BS)
5. Newcastle (I actually had a professor who was from Newcastle, England. He said that Newcastle beer in England is comparable to Keystone in the USA. Kind of funny since I pay $8 for a six pack here)

Honorable Cheap Beer Mention

Miller High Life (The champagne of beers)
Pabst Blue Ribbon

had two crazy ones lately...

1.) Midas Touch from the Dogfishhead in the bay area... the guys that found a burial tomb from the time of King Midas scrapped the beer pots from the tomb and came up with a content... that content made the recipe for this beer... pretty cool, and pretty expensive... 20 plus a FOUR pack...

2.) Stone's Arrogant Bastard Ale Oaked... yes, OAKED... in whiskey barrels... there is no beer experience like it anywhere, period... unreal.

I am huge fan of Founders Breakfast Stout, Its the best stout I have ever had. Better than Mackeason XXX.

Anyway Founders makes a Kentucky Breakfast Stout which is i believe 12% abv. Its aged or fermented in oak bourbon Barrels. I dont like beers aged in bourbon barrels. if i want to taste bourbon ill do a shot of jack. Im just not a whiskey fan.

Anyway ACAMP- if you like Bourbon flavor, you'd love the Founders KBS. Its also $20+ for a 4 pack and made once a year with limitted supply...
