YesDid this weekend fuck us?
Yeah but ESPNs hard on for Georgia could dig a trenchno. UGA just beat a 3-4 UF team by 4
I get it, but a bad drive is going to happen and it's important to remember that we overcame the absolute worst call by an ACC crew this year (and that is a high, high bar) and still held them to only 3 on that drive.More concerned with the defense and allowing a 12 minute drive than anything offensively.
Too few of the key results we need are going NDs way. That has been a trend for 3 or 4 weeks. It doesn't have the same vibe as last year with all the right upsets happening then. Vandy loss was good but Texas now has a better claim then ND if they win out. From here I give it 55/45 chance a 10-2 ND gets in.I categorically disagree. Too many teams play each other that are competing for spots. Take care of business and things will work themselves out
I don't think so. Its BC. We came out and threw the ball 4 straight times, instead of setting the tone and pushing them off the los and pounding the run. Questionable 3rd down anf 4th down calls is a trend. He gets too cute.Isnt it mainly that we have our 2 best OL fellows out injured and the replacements are brand new?
Exactly and the score is the first thing they'll look at..25-10 gets their attention. No, I watched the entire game lol. Did that pass your eye test?
Honestly I thought BC schemed and called a pretty good drive. We helped them a bit, but their QB didn’t try and do too much and took what he was given.I get it, but a bad drive is going to happen and it's important to remember that we overcame the absolute worst call by an ACC crew this year (and that is a high, high bar) and still held them to only 3 on that drive.
Unequivocally no.Did this weekend fuck us?
Far more than any inconsistency on offense and the occasional bad drive by the defense, this is the most frustrating part of the team for me because it's the easiest. This ND team has the worst place kicking I’ve ever seen on the college level.
I watched the whole game too. That’s why I understand the nuance of the game and that ND was never really in trouble. No, I watched the entire game lol. Did that pass your eye test?
I guess we’ll see. I just tend to feel like as a two loss team, we’ve got to win PLUS look good doing so.I watched the whole game too. That’s why I understand the nuance of the game and that ND was never really in trouble.
I’m 41, if I pee’d that much I’d take it.
Agreed. It was a frustrating day as it seemed our front was just about to make a big play and were so close to changing the momentum. Still hard to be disappointed completely, the guys played hard as always. I didn’t get to see the first quarter, I’ll have to find it later.I get it, but a bad drive is going to happen and it's important to remember that we overcame the absolute worst call by an ACC crew this year (and that is a high, high bar) and still held them to only 3 on that drive.
Wasn’t that the rumored on him in spring/fall practice? Too many shots down the field?Offense is in an interesting spot in that Boise, NC State and BC have all loaded the box and played man coverage. It has led to Carr almost exclusively throwing deep it feels like. There have been some frustrating 1st and 10s where it’s like do you really need to throw deep and have it be incomplete right now. The payoff is 40 yard post routes being wide open enough times a game to payoff multiple touchdowns.
Need more short pass solutions to this type of defense. Pitt will be better at it than the above three.
I mean to be fair this is the worst we've looked all season probably. Maybe the first half of the Purdue game or the first half of Boise, but this is the first time we didn't rally to cover with a dominant second half. Bama just got all they could handle and then some from SCAR last week, everyone has a bad game. I get we have 2 losses but there's still a lot of season left and teams will drop games. I don't think this week would be the reason we don't get in or whatever.I guess we’ll see. I just tend to feel like as a two loss team, we’ve got to win PLUS look good doing so.
I don’t think anybody here (and you know this) doesn’t want us to make the playoffs. There’s just concern that we may be leaving too much up to a committee of humans whose interests don’t reflect our own.
Form, eye test, whatever matters. And when you don't look the part AND the resume (SOR, wins against ranked teams, etc) is questionable, there isn't much else to turn to.I mean to be fair this is the worst we've looked all season probably. The game is incredibly scary now and I would not be surprised if we lose by two touchdowns. Narduzzi at minimum will have the boys ready and excited we cannot let them hang around like we did tonight.Pitt will be foaming at the mouth to play us in a few weeks
We shouldn’t recruit kickers and take two xfers a year at kicker.1. They make way too many losing plays, do too many "little things" wrong. They are winning because they are a very, very talented team that can overcome all of that.
2. I was not happy with the O. You get 450+ yards you have to turn that into more than 25 points. They "should have" scored 31... that's not good enough against a team like BC. See Point 1, they self-destruct too much. Running backs going for less than 2 yards a carry, how are you
3. The kicking game is beyond a joke. The idea of getting a proven kicker in the portal is great, but if you are *never* getting kids out of high school that can get the job done then you are one injury away from catastrophe and that's what we saw part of last year + most this year. The fact that they got a "top 5" kicker that can't make chip shot field goals or extra points is the biggest "what the fuck?" ever. Did Biagi even have him come kick for him? If not, why? We would literally have been better off having an open kicking session for any interested high school senior and they would've found someone better.
He plays for the LA Rams now.Brice with a good point on the post-game, where the hell is Williams?
