Meanwhile as I drive through St. Joseph County on the toll road it’s 73 degrees and not a cloud in sight. Shoulda just let Miami host the game in South Bend instead of South Beach.

I'd say Buchner had more going against him in his opening start than Carr does now.

Columbus at night, against the #2 team in the country, a team that was an injury and missed field goal away from winning it all, a star-studded defense, and while it may not be a rivalry, ND fans sure do hate Ohio State. He also had to find a way to keep pace with CJ Stroud and an insanely talented offense with guys like Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Marvin Harrison Jr and Emeka Egbuka.

Not to mention, Buchner had nowhere near the talent to work with. His top receivers were Styles, Salerno and Lenzy, compared to now with Greathouse, Fields and Faison. Plus a much better OL and running game (they were also without their top lineman as Patterson was injured).

Plus Marcus Freeman isn't coaching his very first game officially as ND's coach and we have Denbrock as OC now. Tough way to start for Carr, but Buchner was on impossible difficulty settings.

Wearing a ND shirt and had a guy come up to me at the driving range asking what I was doing at 4:30. Said sitting on the couch in front of the tv with a beer (it will be a lot of beers). He then said “we gave you a Carr” and proceeded to show me his Michigan driver cover.

Anyways, cool story huh. Go Irish!

I think the weather helps ND. Miami doesn’t strike me as the team — especially with Beck — that wants to roll up its sleeve and pound it out.

Notre Dame’s lines and linebackers (and running game) asserts its dominance.

It's beautiful down this way right now. Sunnywith an ocean breeze. I am a little north of the stadium, but It's mid September weather for a football game up north.

Might just be my stupid ass, but that's not a ton of people in the stadium for an hour before kickoff, especially given how shit the weather has been outside.
