BK: "We don't want to put Farley out on an island every snap."

Second candidate for understatement of the year.

You should stick around, regardless of the outcome of the game (but maybe give us some time if Rice pulls the upset). I enjoy how quickly you've picked up one of our prevailing attitudes.

Who knows, you might find yourself buying in and becoming a huge ND fan, much like our resident Bama fans ;)

I did root for you against them in the championship game!

I don't understand this. Is there going to be a rotation at guard?

Rice will enter ND Stadium full of piss and vinegar no doubt. How will ND handle a team that will play the absolute best game of their lives? We all know it's going to be a nail biter. I think Kelly has learned from these games over the years. What sucks is we always have to hide things from Michigan in these openers, making them closer than they need/should be. Show Michigan and the game 1 opponent a blitzkrieg approach one fkn time, send a message. I will be taking the points in this one, McGibbs?

Y'all best be ready to go when the gun goes off. We came out and hit Marshall in the mouth and were up 14-0 before they knew what hit them. We were up 7-0 on M State before they woke up, with a little help from the stripes. We tend to come out of the blocks quickly.

Fortunately we always get off to fast starts on the season. This is a non-issue.

BK on Everett Golson: He's been consistent. Been much more decisive. Sound like both of our QBs have something to prove.

Rice is turning the offense over to Driphus Jackson, who backed up Taylor McHargue for the past two seasons. Jackson relieved McHargue late in the home opener last year, and guided the Owls for a touchdown in a 23-14 win over Kansas. Jackson went 5 of 16 for 50 yards with an interception last season.

"He has patiently waiting his turn for three years," Bailiff said of Jackson. "Every time we've put him into a game, he's been ready, he's performed. It's really been a seamless transition. Driphus has a complete understanding of the offense, his leadership transcends this football team. He's a total package for us."

Jackson solidified the starting job in the spring and will have experienced receivers to help him along. Senior Jordan Taylor led the Owls with 55 catches for 848 yards in 2013 and Dennis Parks made 29 catches for 508 yards.

ND beat the snot out of Navy in Ireland two years ago. They're not always bad out of the gate. We just need that type of performance this weekend. Not a USF blunder.

ND outscored opening weekend opponents 78-16 the last two seasons.
