Seeing people talk when they joined, Old IE was an S tier forum(it’s still great) but it had so many great features. Really miss having the favorite sports teams logos
I remember a link between IE and Domer Domain forums a few years ago. You could jump back and forth between sites. Or was I dreaming that? Little help here. Lol!

Thats true

Broker 3D was the insider back then with Sir John

Gold helmet was the third ND site too

I got hooked into IE circa de 2008. Marten Wilson and A Benn ditched ND and the boards when nuts. That was a gut punch

The entire BOT, most of the administration, Pete, and all the usual donors, are all entirely on board with what the program is trying to accomplish. I've stated many times: Marcus Freeman is very, very rarely ever told no at this point.
This is the sexiest thing I've read in a long time.

Is ND nation still a thing? Man the days of Terry Tate, NDinLA, GBdomer. Loved reading all their scoop. Joined in 2010.
Oh, it’s still real. Prior to coming here, that was my site. If you think that I’m negative or pessimistic …

I honestly don’t know how people can hang out over there for any extended period of time. The setup is terrible, and ACross has free rein to be a legitimate asshole at all times. And the worst part is that the other mods and veterans seem scared or reluctant to call him out on it. The few that do just get attacked worse. Shit’s toxic.

I’m not sure if I’m on the wrong browser, but the format at ND Nation is brutal. I tried checking it out when we were down for a few days once, but couldn’t last more than a few minutes.

Before I consider answering this, is there some kind of inside joke related to him on this site? I've been asked about him several times.
Well, the insinuation was that he did something pretty bad. Bad enough that nobody wants to disclose it publicly in the forums but there are people who have said they are willing to share with others via DM.

At some point people started make it into a "joke" about the great mystery of Davonte Neal and it kind of took on a life of it's own.

It was a frequently asked question back in 11’ that we never got an answer for. So the joke has lingered around since then. Along with Tee Sheppard and Greenberry.

Ah, Tee. As for him, during his very short stay, all he cared to do was hook up with random women, and get high.
Dayne Crist has entered the chat....

anyways...

Tee was a good enough typical college kid in those days.

Those early BK rosters ere such a shitshow. It makes 2012 seem like even more of a miracle in retrospect.

Merck,

I think everyone on here truly appreciates the insights into the program that you've provided. I've avoided asking questions as I didn't want to overwhelm you with questions.

There is one question that I'd like settled. It revolves around Rees being retained before Freeman was hired. Many on this board have been very boisterous that Tommy was forced on Freeman and he didn't have any input. Is that truly how it went down? Was Freeman "semi-consulted" on how he felt about retaining Rees during the interview/vetting stage? Any insight on Freeman's relationship with Tommy?

he leaned on Rees to call plays in a certain manner, which Rees disagreed with, and ultimately resented.

Are you suggesting Rees was the conservative one? The early season conservatism leans far more to Freeman whereas the entire back half the offense opened up (granted versus competition)

- Swarbrick wanted Rees retained, and made that happen almost immediately.

- Freeman was more informed than consulted.

- Initially, their working relationship was fine. However, over time, it deteriorated. One of the reasons for that is because Rees felt he should have been considered for head coach. The other primary reason is that as Freeman settled into the job, he leaned on Rees to call plays in a certain manner, which Rees disagreed with, and ultimately resented.
Can you imagine how much of a crapshow ANY program would be with Rees as a HC? Especially then. I truly cannot believe the guy thought he should be the HC of Notre Dame

Wasn't there a poster who demanded he be told what it was? Something like that rings a bell; I feel like he tied up numerous threads protesting how the information wasn't being shared, and that he would continue to make a fuss in non-related threads until he was informed about Neal's issues?

Am I completely making that up?

Also worth noting that Freeman was more than OK with Rees staying on as OC. As you said, they both worked together fine at the start of all this, Rees was really well respected, Freeman had A LOT of personal respect for Rees telling BK to pound sand and not following him to LSU(I seriously can't emphasize enough how much Freeman loved this), and I honestly think had Freeman been the one making the decision he would have decided to keep Rees on anyways.

Freeman knew he had a TALL task ahead of him as a first time HC at ND and having continuity on the side of the ball that wasn't his speciality was playing with house money.

@Merckxe525 I assume we’re all operating under the idea that you’re on staff and see most/all practices.

My question is, from a mobility standpoint, how mobile is Carr? I believe Denbrock wants a QB that’s a mobile threat that the defense has to account for. Obviously, he didn’t recruit Carr to ND, so is he mobile enough to run the offense the way our OC wants? Maybe Ian Bookesque but can read defenses and doesn’t bail when the first read isn’t there?

Thanks
