Army Bowl Poll: Alabama has best campus

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - According to an anonymous survey taken by the U.S. Army All-Americans at their Sunday check-in, the University of Alabama is home to the nicest college campus in the country. Among the 84 prospects that participated in the survey, nearly 11 percent responded "Alabama" when asked to name the nicest college campus they've ever visited.

As a collection of the most coveted football prospects in the country, these are young men that have visited numerous campuses from coast to coast over the last few years and have received red carpet treatment wherever they go. Everywhere they go, programs are putting their best foot forward.

The full results are listed below in order of number of responses for each program:

Alabama - 9
Notre Dame – 8
USC – 6
LSU - 5
Ohio State – 5
Ole Miss – 5
Clemson – 4
Georgia – 4
Oregon – 4
Stanford - 4
Auburn – 3
Florida – 3
Florida State - 3
Tennessee – 3
UCLA - 3
Arizona State – 2
Duke - 2
Penn State – 2
Texas A&M - 2
Kentucky – 1
Miami - 1
Mississippi State – 1
Oklahoma – 1
South Carolina – 1
Temple – 1
Texas – 1
Vanderbilt – 1
West Point – 1

Nice. Gotta say, our campus is nicer than Alabama's. I think those kids are probably thinking about Alabama's football facilities when they make that statement, which is second to NONE.

With the football facilities in mind, 2nd place by 1 vote is pretty impressive.

I am more surprised that someone even considering Temple was invited to the Army Bowl, nonetheless picked it as the nicest campus. The campus itself isn't bad at all though nothing extraordinary, but if you go two blocks off campus you are literally in one of the worst neighborhoods in the country.

Notable absentee: Michigan. Nice.

Hah, how many of the all-star-game recruits have even visited Michigan this year?

Several of those schools are also getting a boost from the opposite effect: schools like Alabama and LSU have simply hosted a much higher number, driving up their votes (in addition to the sports facilities aspect).

In terms of just campus, Stanford and ND are the two prettiest I've ever stepped foot on and it's not really close. That's not factoring in facilities and stuff just campuses themselves.

Was most disappointed by USC's campus. Thought it was incredibly ordinary and underwhelming with not enough green.

Never been to any of the southern schools like Bama, LSU, Ole Miss.

Ohio State and Penn State being on this list at all is just comical. Talk about overcrowded, mundane shit holes. There's a fucking prison right outside of campus in Happy Valley.

I'm sure most guys just said the school they are committed to, without really considering the question.

I haven't looked at many campuses with D1A football programs because for college I mostly looked at smaller Jesuit colleges. However, if Stanford and Notre Dame have been matched I'd like to see that school. Both of those campuses are unspeakably beautiful.

USC is in a terrible neighborhood. I really don't care for the campus. They are probably rating it for the girls.

Was West Point put on there because it's the Army Bowl, or did someone really visit and or get accepted there?

West point, Stanford, and ND are all level 1 gorgeous. As an OSU pseudo-fan (ND above all), Ohio State's campus cannot be considered gorgeous in any respect. MSU is better, Michigan has some nice buildings but it's not consistent. Alabama is nicer than OSU and the river next to it is nice, but it's not what I'd describe as 'worth visiting.'
