Sad that you have such a narrow view of reddit, sure theres a lot of cats and humor, but theres a lot of quality discussions to be had on many of the subreddits

Reddit has an unhealthy obsession with cats and other cute critters. For reference visit The cutest things on the internet!

From my experience, Reddit is that it is a great way to kill time and also sometimes a big waste of time. The front page is usually trash, but I really enjoy some of these subreddits if you are curious about it:

EarthPorn: Mother Nature in all of her succulent beauty.
HistoryPorn: Historical photographs and pictures
Libertarian Reddit: Social News from a Libertarian Point of View
