Any news other than Shaq? Anyone swaying who were not before towards N.D. due to Charlie staying?

I think the class is still pretty solid. Would have lost a few if charlie left, but thats settled now. Shaq, Watt, Bullard have all came out and said they are still solid in their choose. Stockton, Zeke, and i believe calabrase will all be here in january.

ha yea i knew it was someone like that. all defensive players, that is good to see, especially stockton.

That is good to see, but I can think of at least 2 offensive players I'd rather see coming in early!!

I wouldnt worry about about the class, they seem to be sticking to their word. Article about some of the players committments, and who is visiting for the Notre Dame football banquet. Link below.

South Bend Tribune: Still no splinters on Wood's word

best quote ever...puts my mind at ease.

"All I know is that all the mail that's addressed to Cierre comes through me," Fredette said, "and he told me to throw everything away except Notre Dame stuff."

On the injury front...

On the injury front...

Weis ran down the injury report for the media.

Cornerback Terrail Lambert and linebacker Darius Fleming are ready to practice now, while running back Armando Allen should be ready next week. Wide receiver Michael Floyd and linebacker Brian Smith will get their knees looked at again on Saturday, but should be ready by next weekend.
Receiver Rob Parris will not be back until after exams and linebacker Anthony McDonald will also be out for awhile. Special teams stud Mike Anello will be out two to four months with a broken leg, but will be ready to go if he chooses to come back for a fifth year.

Running back Robert Hughes, who was ejected from the USC game, will play in the bowl game and will serve his suspension in the first half of next year’s opener against Nevada.

Good to hear about Wood. I only hope something changes the fact that we can't block. Cierre can be great, let's find an offense that can open a damn hole.

While i agree with you, a great RB makes something out of nothing.

He's the main reason I didn't want Weis fired. I know CW gave you CW-Haters plenty to gripe about (and I don't blame you for wanting him gone), the fact that he got Cierre Wood to come is so friggin' huge. Do you guys remember Reggie Brooks? I mean REALLY remember what a stud he was? Youtube him; he was even better than I remembered. Wood has that kind of burst, that kind of breakaway speed that we've been waiting for. We've been reading about him down here in SoCal for a few years, and now that he's less than a year away from joining us I'm beyond geeked up to see him.

But still, even though great RB's make guys miss, even Adrian Peterson can't do it alone. The linemen need to raise their game under a new line coach (bye bye Latina for Christ's sake!!!)...

AP actually had a hole to run through.....granted, he did the rest on his own.

We have 4 RB's (not counting FB's), and 3 were 4:s: and Aldridge was a 5:s:. At some point it has to be obvious that the RB's might not be the issue.

I've said this before on here if Aldridge is a 5:s: then Cierre is a 10:s:. Aldridge played at Merrillville same conference i played in (i went to Portage). Aldridge wasn't even the best RB in the conference, Antoine Brown(scholarships pulled after injury senior year) was a much better RB then him. Aldridge played for a good team with lineman that are starting for D1 teams. He was ranked on his upside and his size, because he really wasn't anything overly impressive in HS. I watched him play for 2 years and couldn't believe ND offered him. Maybe they figured they pulled samardzija out of that Conference (Valparaiso) they could hit the jackpot again. Don't get me wrong he is a decent enough RB, and has outplayed Hughes big time for PT...BUT Cierre has that it factor, and already being compared to Darren McFadden is big time. This kid has the potential to be OUR Reggie Bush.

yeah i was trying to find a video of a few weeks ago when he played the bears. One run he had 5-6 guys on him and still pushed the pile 10 yards.

Oh how I long for the days of Brooks & Bettis. Bettis busting into the secondary and just flat out crushing the poor secondary trying to tackle him.

Point taken. Any RB we have will have their ceiling severely limited by the ridiculously inept offensive line and brain-dead play-calling. I'm thrilled to have Cierre, but if he underperforms, will everyone just hop on the "next" hot recruit. We need a new offense.

I agree 100% with everything you said. I just believe talent wise he may be great.
