The world of CFB is full of newsworthy stories. Being a Notre Dame board there isn't really a thread/forum for the stories of coaches/programs that we aren't directly involved with (that I know of). I was reading the following article about James Franklin when I got the idea. He does all sorts of crazy stuff, sometimes I like them sometimes I don't. I know a lot of people around here think he is an A$$ hat but I thought this story is pretty cool:

James Franklin will call your boss so you can attend Vandy, Ole Miss opener | Saturday Down South

This thread can be used for any interesting stories around the CFB world that you're unsure of what thread it best fits in.

If Kelly were to leave after this year, James Franklin would high on my list of replacements.

You guys see that Taggert video at USF?

Video is out there, but I bet Taggert does very, very well at USF.

HC at La Tech.

Thanks. I was hoping he would have better luck. Hopefully he can turn it around.

On an unrelated note, I like the antics of Franklin. Its rare to see coaches give such individual attention to people not directly involved in the program (not that they should, I just find it cool). Vanderbilt fans all love him

I find him amusing. Wouldn't want him to be the HC at ND, but his antics are entertaining.

Spurrier has become more nuts over the years...one of these days his just going to implode. Les has always been nuts.
Haha i could definitely see that.
Yep. They were hilarious. And Clowney... he got the message as well.

I kind of laughed out loud at Spurrier today, it was like "hey North Carolina Clowney is gonna play so good luck stopping him." It was priceless.

Steve Spurrier 'hopes' he wasn't tipsy during weird post-UCF TV show - SBNation.com

Spurrier asked the South Carolina athletic department website to remove archived footage of the show because he was too "negative", the coach told The State. He also asked Fox Sports South not to air a re-run of the program. Both obliged -- the show is not available on South Carolina's official athletics website and Fox Sports South aired a re-run of Spurrier's post-Vanderbilt show instead.

Spurrier was asked if his odd behavior on the program was "impaired in any way", to which he replied "I hope not." The coach also said he was frustrated and fatigued after the near-loss, and said "whether or not I have a few beers after every game for the past 29 years I don't think I need to get into all that."

This is not Spurrier's first time making requests of South Carolina media outlets this year, after reportedly getting a friend hired at The State to cover the Gamecocks.
