These disturbed trans kids killing in Iowa, Nashville, Denver x3, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, British Columbia, etc. You can do whatever you want with the data on this. The gun control lobby notoriously manipulated school shooting data with gang/drug/suicide numbers for shocks and political points. The point is that for most of these horrific shootings in schools- we are seeing gender identity issues. And you want to talk about under representation? You can’t deny that given the small portion of the population that these trans kids make up and the amount of school shooting headlines they’ve made is not alarming at least. Sounds like this kid was active in the online trans hate community similar to the Kirk shooter.

assuming these numbers are correct they’re all extraordinarily small numbers-less than one in a million for any demographic-and certainly don’t suggest that we should treat membership in any group as indicative of a tendency towards mass shootings.

The source? I’m looking for government agencies that are tasked with reporting these kind of stats. Go read the comments under that tweet. If you took any second to actually grab a source and not a picture that made you feel good you’d see how fucking stupid it is.

While true, that's also true for most such things. It's only a very very small percentage of any demographic group doing most bad things. It's not so much the percentage of a group who does something bad, as it's what percentage of bad things are done by members of a particular demographic? Undoubtedly, only a very tiny percentage of the LGBQT community commits such shootings, but a very high percentage of shootings in the past few years have been done by members of the LGBQT community to the point now that when one happens, most of us immediately suspect that's who the shooter will turn out to be.

You don't need to be a mathematician to understand a tiny percentage of the population is trans yet they do not represent a tiny percentage of school shooters. Two could be a statistical anomaly - we are well past that. Also talking about the straight up A-hole killing spree variety, not the parking lot drive by gang bangers, suicides or targeted solo attacks.

Even still - your kids are much more likely to drown in a pool than get shot and killed at school randomly. 28,000 high schools, one in one hundred chance of any incident - massively overweighted to areas with disproportionate gang violence and douchebaggery. Incidents outside of inner cities are fewer and far between.

No idea yet about the mom, but wouldn't surprise me. There's a MUCH higher percentage of trans kids in uber liberal families than in the general population (look at how many Hollywood celebrities have trans kids, e.g.). There's no genetic reason this should be. The most plausible reason by far is that it's not the kids, but the parents (usually the mom) pushing it as a sort of Munchausen by proxy sort of thing where the mom is neurotic and needs the attention and uses the child to get it.

As the saying goes, If you're 20 and think you're a different sex, you have a mental illness. If you're 6 and think you're a different sex, your mom has a mental illness.

isn't it equally plausible that trans kids raised in conservative households hide it/don't come out because they fear what would happen to their family relationships if they did? Even assuming its true that liberal households have more trans kids, I'm not sure that establishes causation.

Possibly, but I doubt that accounts for a very large percentage of it. It appears that neurotic moms using their children for attention is a huge part of the problem.

I can’t believe my data is so wrong, I’m sure there will be some sort of response with the correct data set. I’ve been promised it’s so clear to see.
