Wasn't expecting anything different to be reported. Report given only to the senate in closed chambers. Someone is probably taking pics with their phone to get it out to the public.

SNAP is a scam perpetuated by PepsiCo and Frito Lay.

School lunch is a scam perpetuated by Sodexo and Aramark.

SNAP should consist of ten items. Spinach, tomato, chicken, rice, beans, potatoes, eggs, milk, seasonal fruit, almonds.

Need basic cow, bread, pig, carrots, fish, onion, and lettuce. Not saying steak, or high end type components. Just the healthy basics.

Demand will drive.
I'm sorry but this is economically incoherent. "Demand will drive" only works when prices are allowed to reach market equilibrium. In a government-run system, price is predetermined so the impact of demand is neutered. Demand doesn't mean "I really want that thing," demand means "I really want that thing... and I'm willing to pay for it."

Being in pharma has conditioned you to believe their narrative. Many industries rely heavily on R&D, and they exist globally without US subsidy. Believing it's the responsibility of US tax payers to subsidize the world is simply ludicrous. And US based companies have R&D facilities in Europe and other places. Those jobs go where the best talent, and least regulations are present.
What are you talking about? Nobody is talking about a subsidy in the sense of tax dollars. We're talking about a subsidy in the sense of higher prices in exchange for better health outcomes. We're paying for the health and wellness of the whole world.

An individual's nutritional needs would be fully met by the ten items I laid out. Nobody needs bread, the value of carrots and onion is covered by the other things I included, fresh fish is prohibitively expensive, and lettuce is nutritionally worthless.

Beef is the least efficient nutrient delivery system on the planet.

The room is basically a tech clean room. No phones, cams, tech watches, etc. allowed. You are watched while you read.

It won't leak b/c Dems don't want it to leak. They will claim all sorts of hogwash and Rs will just say "that's not true!!" Truth was never the goal here.

I don't want families eating the same crap day after day. You can offer variety without upping the cost. I want healthy, not prison. It doesn't have to be least cost and nutritionally perfect. It needs to be low cost and nutritionally positive. Fresh fish in regional areas is cheap.

Demand is not just an impact in capitalistic industry. In a government run system, prices are negotiated up front. When a company can no longer sell to EU as cheaply, because the US won't pay more than the EU countries, the prices negotiated will equalize. If it happens across the board, there is no one else to go to... The demand for drugs doesn't go away. It's not rocket science.

I said US taxpayers. Who pays for HC and drugs. You (you are a US taxpayer), and the US gov (funded by taxpayers) pays for HC and drugs. If you don't like the word tax payer, remove it.... THE US, in one way or another, is subsidizing the rest of world.

Compassion demands we offer sustenance. People can pay for variety if they want variety.

I've lived in New England my whole life. No it isn't.

Then you're not achieving anything in terms of actually reducing costs and we're right back where we started, with the only difference being that you took away everyone's individual choice and flexibility in the matter. The only way prices go down is if you actually think the federal government would be a more effective negotiator than private insurance companies, which have their own profit incentives to reduce costs. The government is effective at practically nothing, and negotiating is probably one of the things they're the worst at.

I’m confused. So is Brett Kavanaugh against Twinkies being eligible for SNAP?

healthy variety can be achieved at the same price. give them whatever credit amount to provide compassionate sustenance , let them chose from healthy choices.

I've lived in New England my whole life. No it isn't.

Fish is not expensive in ATL. Catfish/tilapia and others is typically around the same price as ground beef. I really don't care about fish anyway.

You are reducing cost. The cost equalizes across countries. Becomes higher in RoW (rest of world), cheaper in the US. We have the largest market. We should get most favored status plain and simple.

The fed would be more effective than insurance companies. Too much conflict of interest between insurance and pharma. Gov does suck though. That's not a reason to go after cheaper prices.

They’re already eating crap everyday. Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish...

The system you describe above in Europe is the way it is, BECAUSE we subsidize. The systems will change, and globally adjust. The industry just doesn't stop, or fade. Demand will drive. I think you would be surprised how many Big Pharma CEOs would be all for a one-payer system in the U.S.

Not sure they would if it meant most favored nation pricing...
It would save a but load of money on distribution, sales, and admin (which are highest in the world).

That's why my list included education/tech training.

At this point, we are splitting hairs b/c I’d love if the Feds would even think about something similar to your proposals...they won’t. Once someone gets something for free...I don’t care if they are to the right of Attilla the Hun...they will NEVER allow it to be taken from them.

I think Wizards is spot on. The food giants like Nabisco, Kraft, etc are reaping the benefits of welfare recipients being able to buy whatever types of food they choose.

That’s another thing that will likely never be reversed...Lobbyists.

They didn’t get to where they are by not knowing the benefits of working directly w/ govts vs insurance companies. A lot of these CEOs are European.

Hey, did you ever watch the documentary we spoke about "sick in america", or "sick around the world"?

It outlined ~5 other health care systems in different countries.

F the food giants. Cut them right out. And even better, outlaw the lobbyists lol.. A taxpayer can dream!!

They didn’t get to where they are by not knowing the benefits of working directly w/ govts vs insurance companies. A lot of these CEOs are European.

Their way of doing business though changes dramatically if the US goes "most favored nation" on them. And let's be honest... EU gov < US gov

No. I bookmarked it, was ready to watch, and the vid was removed. But I watched one similar. Then was going to try and find it again, and forgot the name and didn't have time.... Then distracted... Then mom got sick.... Then football started....

pick the excuse lol..

now my curiosity is peaked again.

Okay, seriously, which alien race kidnapped the real Lindsey Graham and replaced him with this doppelganger? Come forward and receive thy prize.

I've thrown a lot of shade at Lindsay and Mitch over the years - nice to see them both finally find some fight in them. Early indications are moderate folks agree with them to the tune of about 2:1. Witch hunts apparently don't play as well with the public as liberal Dems planned.

Mid Term factors:
1) Dem base was already mobilized
2) R base has been awakened and now look to match Dem enthusiasm
3) Moderates are turning 2:1 in support of Brett and much more likely to vote overall

If only the election were next week instead of a month away - a whole lot can change in a month.
