Bama with Tua looks utterly unstoppable. He's like a goddamn cheat code given the other pieces on that team.

He's freakish with his ability to read a D, go through his progressions very quickly, find the open receiver in an instant, and has the arm talent & confidence to put the ball exactly where he wants regardless of coverage. One of the analysts today said that he "throws receivers open" and another said he has "10 year NFL veteran field vision." That first TD pass last night where he spun away from the rush and while still turning found his WR and hit him was video game level stuff.

SI and several other sources are reporting that Saban called Taylor last night to apologize for being short-tempered and snapping at her, and they're good. Word is, Saban's wife Miss Terry "expressed her disapproval" to him for being rude to Taylor. :)

Good, because that was a total dick and unprofessional response he gave. It smacked of the same arrogance that Urban Meyer has that you can just tell lies under the surface and shows itself as the real person he really is.

He apologized. It’s not like Kelly hasn’t overracted before. End of story.

Comparing this to the events at tOSU is a bit of a stretch. Could Nick have been more polite? Sure. Did he owe her an answer? No.

I'm pretty sure he didn't reference any events at OSU.

Should I change my post to say that I fail to see how his response has anything to do with UM? Trying to associate the two given recent events is a stretch IMO.

He was saying the two coaches are similarly arrogant. Come on, even someone from Alabama can see that.

And someone from Canada can connect the dots to the inferences. Saban could have been more professional in his response and the reporter could have been more professional in her questioning. Call it arrogance, being impolite, or whatever. He said what needed to be said and the reporter didn’t get the “controversy” she was looking for.

Anyways... great win for your Irish.

Exactly. This isn't even a story.

It's funny how the media is so charged up about this. It's like they are trying hard to make themselves relevant or "part of the story". Sure, Satan could have answered the question differently but he's been asked a similar question 9,000 times...it has to get old. I think his act with the press is getting old but this is so stupid. LET IT GO!

Don’t see the big deal. But love that Mrs. Saban didn’t want even a hint of disrespect out of him. Like that he took her advice to heart.

I think not one but BOTH of you are actually Nick Saban, consistently gauging the pulse of ND to see when it's time to take the job.

Chess not checkers.

Sa-bots. They're a part of Bama's long-running AI program designed at creating chaos in the rest of the NCAA.

Obviously having several top recruits helps, but not all those guys turn into college studs. A few injuries, a few duds and we're in trouble. At best, most of our D, no matter how talented, simply don't have much experience. We're going to have about 3 or 4 returning stars and a bunch of replacements on D this year. They better grow up fast and live up to their potential or we're going to struggle stopping any team with a pulse. I think Tua's gonna have to light it up every game and pile up the points for us to have a good season.

Pardon us, while the rest of college football (except for Clemson, I guess) plays you a sad tune on the world's smallest violin!

I actually disagree. Media don’t report anymore, they drive the narrative and their certainly trying to drive the narrative in this QB situation. Maybe he could of been less forceful but good on him for sticking up for his team. You can bet his QBs appreciate his comments.

Agree. Media on the whole can get bent. They know what they're doing, and calling them on it is only classless because most coaches play along.

The whole coach-question process is stupid, but Saban needs to stop getting his panties in a bunch. Dude's walking around like his shit don't stink. She's a professional doing her job.

It was a fairly straightforward question, one that can be answered in any cliched coach-speech way he wants to. No need to be a cranky bastard. Fuck him.

Side note: It was stunning to see her (Taylor) on the set College Gameday set with Kelly and McGraw. My god, she's big. They looked like children, next to her.

As much as anything, I think he was in a foul mood about how our D played down the stretch. We got really sloppy, made several dumb mistakes, and got some stupid penalties that sustained drives for Louisville. He was pretty hot about that and primed to be grouchy. As others have said, he went a little too far, he apologized, it's over.

BAMA

BAMA

No ones beating this team.. first of all.

The most impressive thing is the size of these players up and down the roster. I don’t know what they’re doing (deer antler spray 😆) but holy hell.

We’re dealing with ELITE size and speed at EVERY position.

How are they compiling a roster unlike ANYONEelse in the nation?

First, it's not deer antler spray. TTT's wife is a heck of a cook and she's been dishing out fried chicken, baked mac & cheese, cornbread, and blackberry pie by the truckloads. TTT and his family are doing their part. He's more than just a bagman you know.

Seriously, Bama has a team of nutritionists, chefs and a training table that's beyond words. Then there's Scott Cochran and his workout regimen. Diets tailored to each player's needs and an insane workout program, plus we're starting out with many of the most elite recruits who are already physical freaks to start with.

Saban's built a rep as the guy who can get you to the NFL. I saw a pic recently of Bama's D and O from a game a few years ago. Every single one of those 22 guys went to the NFL. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. If you start at Bama you've got a 95% chance of going to the NFL. If you even make it into the two-deep rotation you'll probably go. That's a HUGE recruiting tool. It lets Nick go into any 5-star's house and say, "Wanna go to the NFL? Sign here."

'They are the gold standard' - Brian Kelly

For now, but I remember all too well the 3 Mikes era when we had losing seasons, a roster that didn't rank in the top 30, didn't get a single player drafted, and didn't scare ANYBODY. This run with Saban won't last forever, but we're enjoying the ride for as long as it lasts.

Are you truly satisfied being an Alabama fan? Grown weary of losing one game only to still win the title? Do you want something more genuine, something more believable from your college sports besides pro-level performers preying on every other run-of-the-mill student-athlete? Are you sick and tired of watching your team dominate game after game, time after time with freaks of nature at every position on the field?

It stopped being funny to me.

It starts with a rigorous regimen of paying players early and often. Then a focus on the NFL. That gets you past the fact that there's nothing remarkable about Alabama as a university or state, unless you count excessive obesity:

If a D-league were ever developed, Alabama would tank overnight. It's not some secret sauce of development they have. It's years of consistently buying the best players and developing a reputation for getting them into the league. Those players would go to the league from any school they played at.

Those kids are no bigger than Tuitt or Rudolph or Harrison Smith. No training table or nutritionist got those kids like that. Alabama hand picks their depth chart, and most of their roster is those kids.

That's why they win.
