I know this... if Nd wins, no matter who they play... violent crime and head explosions with spike in the south hours after the game.
As in, you want to beat them? Or you think ND has a better chance to beat them? I'm with LAX on this.

To be the best you must beat the best-who it is really doesnt matter. Go Irish!
So if Georgia gets luck in their game vs. Alabama, and we beat Georgia, winning the national championship game, are we not the best since we didn't get to beat Alabama? Or do you not think Bama is better than UG?
I want Alabama for the historical reasons, but in terms of winning I would want Georgia. Both are good teams and won't be an easy win, but Saban is a much better coach than Mark Richt in my opinion. UGA is going to need to play lights out just to beat Bama this Saturday. We match up better with Bama's offense, but I think Bama is a better team overall. I'll be watching Saturday night and analyzing everything I can.
I don't care who we play so long as we win. If we beat Georgia some people might say something about "not beating the best" but it'll be really hollow. If Georgia beats Alabama they'll have beaten Florida and Alabama, they would be the best team in the SEC, thus making them the "best team in the nation" to the pundits.

If it gets rid of the toad that keeps opening threads, I'll root for UGA.
...What do you really get if you face Georgia though? It's a run of the mill team that has a reputation for folding up and under-performing. ...They are the perpetual almosts and have no tradition, no history to speak of, no accomplishments that anyone knows about or can remember.
...
What? By hypothesis, we're assuming Georgia has beaten Alabama and Florida for the SEC championship and #2 in the country...That's not exactly "run-of-the-mill"...
But who are they, really, if you face them and they have beaten Alabama? They are still just Georgia. If you had a choice, and we're just hypothesizing like we are, would you rather play a Southern Cal in a championship game or a San Jose State team that, in another hypothetical situation, became eligible?
Alabama is the better team, which we happen to match up better with.
My heart says Georgia wins today though.
Then on the 7th ND over Georgia for the chip.
