Official already??? Fastest post George O'Leary background check ever at Notre Dame!??
I’m assuming the background process started a while ago when he was still coaching in the playoffs.Official already??? Fastest post George O'Leary background check ever at Notre Dame!??
The other thing I found during this recent process: our fanbase seems very impatient when it comes to these announcements being made "official." Is that just paranoia that something could go wrong? I get the idea that time kills all deals, but what difference does it make when the school/program sends out a tweet making hires "official"?
On the one hand, we tout how Notre Dame is Notre Dame and does things a different way than everyone else, so I would assume that thoroughly hiring assistant coaches would fall into that category maybe?
IDK, it doesn't really bother me or concern me personally that ND HR takes their time with this. I know this time around it really ruffled a lot of our fans on the internet. I couldn't really understand why other than the George O'Leary thing.
I think part of the paranoia is that from the outside it makes it looks like ND either can't find their guy, or no one they like is interested. Both of those are not good. Sometimes that may be true but it's not definitely true. The other thing I found during this recent process: our fanbase seems very impatient when it comes to these announcements being made "official." Not sure how I feel about this. Wasn't Golden supposed to be running Freeman's system?
Me too... ready to see it on the field. I will say this about both coach's comments... they were a far-cry from the 'passive' coaching of the past 10+ years. It seems they both want the 'Foot to the pedal - to the floor' type of playing from the players... we will see.I liked what Golden had to say. He was impressive.
I hope he wears it. Every Day, TWICE on SUNDAYS.I like the hire, I just hope he never wears the corny shirt and tie look ever again.
Welcome to ND Coach Golden!
The deal was hatched by Sydney Powell and Roger Stone. Don't tell anybody! Was curious if they would've crossed paths much in Cincinnati. Do all the football coaches in town hang out and... watch basketball?
Is this the new age equivelent to Charlie wearing his Super Bowl rings to recruit? lolIt seems Washington and Mason have done some of the grunt work in recruiting contact so far, but M’Pemba and Ausberry both were definitely impressed being with Golden in person. M’Pemba said he showed him his plan for him in the D via Bengals SB run clips.
Each player will get the “Percy Harvin” treatment. Is this the new age equivelent to Charlie wearing his Super Bowl rings to recruit? lol
The dream sequence is still a playable card? Each player will get the “Percy Harvin” treatment.
There is a secondary benefit, beyond mere technique. Golden is showing them how to be Super bowl participants, even if not champions. This, the limning of possibility, this vision, is far more valuable than looking at the Oklahoma State game tape. Big thoughts. Big ideas. The players have talked about how they are seeing a lot of film on this past season's Bengals AFC Champions. Considering how they were able to slow down some very potent offenses in the NFL Playoffs, those are not bad instructional film sessions at all. AG has them doing NFL type drills. Big fan of that. Players are too.

And Golden has been on the job for less than two months.
Don't bring him into this lmaoooo let me be happyWasn't that supposed to be BVG's big selling point? Pro DC, bringing NFL schemes to ND?
