Just turned the game off. No one showed up to play today except maybe Atkins. Carlton Scott passing up wide open 3s because he doesn't have confidence in his shot is just so sad to watch.

Loved the way this team played this year. Too bad the season had to end this way. FSU is an awful matchup for our personnel.

IrishLax, I hate to say this, but I believe you owe me a cool 250K vbucks. It's just the way Brey's teams always play in the tournament. If we look at the history of his tenure, it's not surprising the season ended this way.

No side bets go thru without me getting a piece of that action. 10% cut.

Disappointing finish to a season that greatly exceeded preseason expectations.

For all the comments about Abro's and H'bro's shooting they scored almost 40 pts between them. Abro was 8-18, 44%, Ben was 5-13, 38%

Atkins had 7 pts, one less than Scott, Nash, Cooley, and Martin combined. Atkins only shot 3-10, 30% while Nash at 2-3, 67%. Martin was 0-4, Cooley 0-1, and Scott 1-9, 11%.

I feel really bad for a guy like Ben Hansborough. He was a huge part to the teams success this year and put in a lot of work to allow us to be successful this year.

Cheers seniors, we're proud of the way you played this season. I think you've made us all Irish proud.

Go Irish!

Far too much iron and far too little net for the Irish.

As exciting and entertaining as a (hot) three point shooting offensive game plan can be, there should be a back-up approach when it's not working well. One that might involve more presence inside. One that can be brought into play before the writing is on the wall.

When the long ball shooters ain't got it, move inside to bang the board and go for short, pull up jumpers. Make use of deft ball handling and crisp passing. Hell, you might even get the opposing team playing scared because of foul trouble.

I know it wouldn't be as effective against teams such as FSU who have a deep bench, but goodgawdawmighty, give it a shot!

Disappointing end, to say the least, to the season.

You had a good run, gentlemen, and I thank you for all you did.

One more beer and another glass of Burgundy (Old Fart heart medicine) and it's nighty-night time.

Wow, I admire your fortitude. Beer and burgundy? Yikes! I would be so hungover I wouldn't be able to function for three days. You da man!

Red wine, Burgundy and otherwise, used to give me a a raging headache and dry mouth the following morning after a glass or two.

I've built up a tolerance to both over the years. You know the saying: "Practice, practice, practice."

My liver may have a negative opinion on the matter, but I stopped listening to it years ago.

Obviously ND peaked too early, you just had that feeling it would be tough to keep doing what they were doing. Awful matchup also...but fsu looked like we did 3 weeks ago, lights out. They should be a tough out the way they d up, although did we get any calls 2nite?! I know the refs didn't lose it, but on a tough night there were a lot of tough calls. At least they did a great job of giving us something to occupy our time...Wed is spring ball!

Mike Brey is a great Coach who constantly wins games. I wish he would get us further in the tournament too, but this team let him down tonight. They flat out missed shots that they normally make. Picked a bad time to put up a stinker, but I don't blame Brey This team is going to really miss Hansborough and Nash next year, but I'm excited to see Atkins and big Jack Cooley step into the starting lineup alongside Scott, Abromaitis and Martin.

"Peaking" seems to me to be more of a term appropriate to runners training for the ultimate race. In FB and BB, you need to "peak" every week...

Anyway, my bad for this loss. I still have not read or seen anything about the game other than this site, but, as the BBall jinx of this site, I promised I would not mention nor even think about ND BBall until it was over.

But.

Just before the game, I spoke to a beloved mentor about other things and he brought up the ND game and asked if I would watch. So I broke my promise and spoke about ND BBall. I went off about refs and mentioned I was a jinx. He lost interest in the conversation and asked me if I really thought I had something to do with the outcome.

I thunk.."uh oh." He was so intense with his concern that I guess he didn't see the humor. He thinks I am delusional. Good thing I did not introduce my beautiful deer girlfriend Faline to him.

We played really good all season in the big east and now the big east is being exposed. So were we really playing that good or was it the teams we were playing. We just didn't look like the same team the last 2 weeks.
