I don't think that's how this works.

Actually, that is how this works.

Was CJ Prosise a monster at this time last year? I would contend yes, we just hadn't seen it yet. Same with Kizer.

You're saying you can only be a monster based on production and I'm arguing there are always monsters in waiting. Their physical make-up isn't any less monster whether they've been outed or not.

With all due respect, you aren't shit until you prove it on the field. And that is fact.

If I had a nickel for every physical/weightroom "monster" that wasn't jack on the field....

Yes, we have a 3 headed monster.

A monster is a monster, even if it hasn't shown it's face.

Still hanging out at those Nessie and Big Foot sites, huh?

Holtz had a 3 headed monster with Bettis, Brooks, and Burris in the goal-line offense. Any won of them was a threat to score.

Holtz had a 3 headed monster with any FB, any RB, and any QB except Graham and Powlus running his Triple Option. Kelly doesn't run 2 RBs much less 3.

Folston, Adams, and Williams may excel at the RB role but Kelly doesn't run a full-house backfield. Either or ND's QB creates a second threat but 3 ... no. The premise is spurious.

The originator of the 3 headed monster term needs to go back to his strength ... watching film.

It's a matter of perspective. Anyone who speaks in facts, self-proclaimed facts no less, often has a difficult time entertaining other possibilities.

That's fine, this isn't an argument anymore. I'm willing to entertain the other side and you appear less so.

I'm all for action transcending potential but I can still recognize the potential is present. In my estimation, and many of those in the media, Dexter Williams looks like he's on the verge of breaking out.

From my untrained eye, he has incredible burst, perhaps the best of any of our backs in the short to intermediate range. He also possesses a short, stout frame.

I expect him to prove my prognostication but if you get to define the rules and declare facts, then I suppose we only have a two-headed monster. Unless you also get to define monster, perhaps that's only one who's rushed for over 1300 yds? Or more than 20 TDs? In that case, I suppose we have a zero-headed monster.

I'll stop the pedantry here, I'm ready for next Sunday night.

The banner year was 1990:

Rodney Culver
Ricky Watters
Tony Brooks
Jerome Bettis
Dorsey Levens

What a time to be an ND fan.............

I'll reserve my vote until I see a product on the field.
As long as D Williams lives up to the hype, then yes. Especially with that O Line plowing the road.
