If true which is unlikely freeman should be dropping that agent immediately. Prolly has grounds to sue him as well.

I'm guessing his agent is almost certainly an attorney which is why you know this is completely made up. 0% chance a high powered agent is risking his law license and reputation by telling his clients confidential stuff about other clients so that the informed clients can recruit high schoolers. Even shitty small town lawyers know better.

It is true that they share the same agent, Clint Dowdle.

Like others have expressed, I find it highly unlikely - for a multitude of reasons - that Dowdle would share such info about one client with another.

An agent telling another client would be stupid. But, a) driskal mentioned something sketchy happened, b) henderson was concerned about how long mf wld be here

And how would Freeman even know what NFL jobs were going to be open next year to make that sort of decision already. What if the Browns was the only open job next year?

Until ND gives Freeman a contract that makes him the highest or one of the highest paid coaches in college football the NFL will come calling every post season.

A&M had a strategy here I think this was more like an Ebay bid where they snuck in on the last minute with the highest dollar.

Last I remember reading was he made around 9 million; I didn't know this update:

A&M won the Ebay bid, I think if ND would've gotten him on campus he would've comitted to ND.

Not saying all small town lawyers are shitty. I've worked with plenty who could litigate circles around me. But when you go into random southern towns where there's 15 local attorneys, chances are good there's at least one getting by on vibes with the local judges and who should've retired 10 years ago. The kind of guy who shows up to a trial with an empty legal pad and nothing else because he assumes his well-represented co-defendant is going to do everything... not that I'm referring to anything that might've happened to me in Appalachia lol.

The next college football head coach that has a successful transition into the NFL will be the first one, in my lifetime. Not really sure why Freeman would even entertain a middle of the road NFL job over a top college job.

IMO if you were to read the post as true, the idea that the agent told Elko that doesn’t need to be true for the story to be true. Elko could easily say “we have the same agent, he’s gone after this year”

I think the idea that the agent actually told Elko that and thinking of ways Freeman can sue him is overthinking it.

You were born in like 2000, dude.

Bill Walsh, George Seifert, Jimmy Johnson, Barry Switzer, Pete Carroll, Tom Coughlin, Jim Harbaugh were all college head coaches that went on to coach in or win a Super Bowl as a Head Coach. Many, many more were assistant coaches in college that became HC's in the NFL and then went to the Super Bowl.

It ain't *that* odd.

Had my engagement photos taken at the Chug in Muncie if that tells you where I spent much of my time in college...
Probably a good thing for me that 6th Avenue Dancers had closed their doors in Terredise by the time I got hitched if I planned on something similar…

100% agree- I think ND's biggest threat will always be OSU. Freeman is made for college coaching and I hope he stays at ND for 10 more years.
