It's like their trying to rekindle the days of Bosco,McMahon,Young and Detmer all over again.

On another note to land in my opinion a top 2 QB and the #1 or #2 Basketball player in the nation BYU must really be putting some NIL packages together

Mormons have money and like BYU sports. Its a pretty simple exercise. And they seem to be relaxing enforcement of their behavior rules (like no premarital sex, no alcohol, etc) which was a major turnoff for many guys over the years.
Not sure if the rules themselves have changed, just the enforcement. Anyone have BYU contacts who might know more about this?

I have a lot of booster connections out here in Utah, and I can show texts from many of them on the 17th saying they secured him.

I asked if part of the NIL is our prophet saying he only needs to pay 5% tithing instead of 10% as a joke. But sounds like they just flat out bid Oregon.

Make no mistake though, BYU boosters are going to throw cash around and try and make their team relevant. Dont be surprised if they become a perennial top 10 basketball team soon. I think they may try in football, but I dont think they got the horses to keep up.

Rules certainly haven’t changed. As far as enforcement, I don’t think they’ve gotten looser. But they’ve separated the Title IX office and the Honor Code office. That certainly limits the number of stories getting to the HC office which would punish the student for breaking the honor code.

There has also been a shift in requirements for bishops to report incidents to the HC office. So most of the stories and situations that used to get to them in the past are no longer being reported as much.

But there hasn’t been less ‘enforcement’. They’ve just created channels to keep it away from the HC office as much as possible.

Oregon getting their doors blown in on QB recruiting is exactly why Carr/Minchey had to start this year, and hopefully succeed

Lanning has only started transfer QBs

They certainly have money, but I didn't know anything about them relaxing on the enforcement of their behavior rules. I remember the WR/KR guy hoped in the portal and talked about that still being very much a thing over at BYU.

Spot on from what I've heard as well. I always found it funny that BYU had all these rules that Brigham Young himself couldn't follow...a racist, polygamist with 57 children (21 thru conjugal) 56 wives, who opened distilleries all around Utah and loved whiskey. Guess it makes sense🤔🤔

Dented Brick Distillery in SLC literally uses the spring/well from one of Brigham's distilleries! Decent stuff they make there.

The LDS church follows in his footsteps, a bunch of corruption. They also bribe government officials

Granted, I haven't paid much attention to him, but his recruitment is really odd to me. Maybe I'm just too enclosed in the ND bubble.

They would've had a time with me had I went there, my excuse would've been "I'm doing it the Brigham Young way" everytime.😂😂😂😂

Oooo absolutely, I just decided not to go too far might ruffle some followers feathers. It's a bit more they do as well that was hard to listen to from some former followers.

Stay tuned on polygamy. Some recent developments suggest our friends in Utah may be testing the legal waters on polygamy fairly soon.

Assuming Georgia is potentially trying to get him to visit and hear their offer.

Or USC back in the game.

Or he saw Sitake get a pay bump, and now he wants one from Crumbl too.

Either way, he'll head out on his mission and won't enroll till 2027, so this is small news.
