Yuck. Seemed for a long time like he was ours to lose. Did we pick Grubbs over him? Was it whoever chooses first gets the spot?

First come, first served.

Hart indicated that he wasn’t as close to a decision as Grubbs, so ND took Grubbs.

Funny enough, Hart looks to be committing only two to three weeks later.

The QB dominoes fall quickly in recruiting.

Just a little context…

Hart’s top 3 schools were ND, UF & FSU.

ND set up QB visits strategically, in which Grubbs was first, before Hart.
ND told Grubbs he was there #1. (Straight from Grubbs’ quote).

ND had Grubbs above Hart.
UF had Griffin above Hart.
FSU had Smiegel above Hart.

Michigan didn’t even offer Hart until 4 weeks ago.
Hart saw ND, UF & FSU take other QBs, realized he was running out of options, so commits to Michigan.
OSU offers today, but too late because they weren’t pushing for an immediate commit.

Hart was 2nd to 3rd on his top 3 schools’ QB board, and Michigan offered late & Hart jumped on it…and Michigan will act like they beat everyone out for him.

What happened to Clemson here? People seemed to think that they had a real shot after they offered

So it's JJ McCarthy all over again. Well JJ ended up at his 3rd choice not 4th.

That was 1 of 10,000 examples of QBs falling to their 3/4 choice and actually succeeding.
9,999 other times we never hear from them again.

And JJ I’m counting on never hearing from them again

I'll have to disagree with you on the percentage. I bet 3/4 of the guys in the League didn't land at their initial 1st or 2nd choice.

JJ was by no means 1 in 10,000. Doesn't matter, BK and Booger Rees woulda messed him up.

Let's call it a get at best.

It's basically scoring a fine prom date because the captains of the football, basketball & baseball teams didn't ask your date.

says hes gonna stick with SCUM but lol kid get back out there

Yet, the '26 signing day is a long time away. Lots can change. Underwood could light it up as a freshman, and Hart would realize he won't do squat until he's a junior at Michigan. Top 100 QBs aren't privy to waiting two years to start.

You ask for money and if they aren’t willing to pay you walk. Why burn that bridge now when you have 12 months to play the game.

Still a long way, but 2026 class can sign with schools starting in June 2025, I believe

They'll both have a blast at the spring practice BBQ after Michigan finishes 6-7 this year. They can award themselves a trophy for their recruiting success too. Put it next to the potato salad and coleslaw.

Unfortunately for Underwood, Michigan will likely get the ban hammer after the 2025 ESD.
Fortunately for Hart it will be dropped long before his ESD.
That actually would be funny. Sign a "great" class, get the death penalty, watch great class transfer with money in hand.

Don't forget the UM bbq delicacy, lukewarm hot dogs.

Nothing is really going to happen. Minimal at most. They can't be vacated the championship. Coaching suspensions (all but Moore left) and program fines are likely it. Maybe some loss of scholarship, but the limit is going up to 105, so it's really moot at this point.

Mmmm. lukewarm hot dogs and canned baked beans from the Ann Arbor Sam's Club.

That beats developing a three star player and feeling sad face about a recruiting class that doesn't finish in the top five.

At this point with postseason bans… would any player give up a paycheck because they don’t have to play a few games at the end of the season? Winning a championship used to mean something because that’s really all there was. If Underwood is getting $10m and leaves because of postseason ban but nobody is going to match that $10m I don’t think he leaves anyway.
