Maybe it’s just me, but it felt like ND had struggled recruiting Tackles for the last small handful of years. They just happened to strike gold with a Joe Alt, who was 250 pounds when he committed. That one saved them.

Now they’ve gone on a run of Jagusah, Lambert, and Strebig (and favorable odds to land more). Rudolph is definitely restocking the cupboard.

This is a really nice pickup.

I think it’s more they didn’t pan out…

Blake fisher and especially tosh baker were huge gets. So was Quinn Carroll. Yes Joe alt saved the day though

Now we’re recruiting more tackles willing to move them to guard

I remember one guy was worried Rudolph didn’t recruit big enough guys at OT after Knapp was his first recruit. I think we can put that worry to bed.

Just watched his tape. Mike Mcglinchey vibes for obvious reasons. Going to need to develop lower half to be a left tackle but phenomenal finisher in the run game and plays with tremendous effort. Redshirt year then being ready to contribute the year after. Hard to imagine the frame of a high school kid looking like him. Incredible

Seriously. Imagine being your average small town high school d-end and drawing this assignment.

In 2020 ND signed Tosh Baker who finished the cycle, both rated and ranked higher than Strebig is currently.

In 2021 ND signed Blake Fisher who finished the cycle, both, rated and ranked higher than Strebig is currently.

In 2022 ND landed Aamil Wagner who at the end of the cycle was, both, rated and ranked higher than Strebig is currently.

ND has been landing top OT prospects for the last several consecutive years.

We've hit the OL honey hole. Getting giants who are ~91 ratings but have all the upside in the world as the ~99, 5-star guys who expect the world handed to them upon stepping foot in campus. Wouldn't trade this "spot" with anyone in the country.

Strebig looks pretty skinny right now. Not a lot of bad weight which is good. Get him in a college S&C program, he should keep some good mobility even with the added weight.

It’s just your average DL/OL 1v1, no different than the drills they’ve run at these camps for years. Strebig’s technique is just awful on that rep so maybe it looks different to some.

One rep at one camp, who cares. But, certainly something that a coach would look at and say ok, let’s coach this up.

His kick slide is essentially a back pedal. Creates a narrow base and he gives up the momentum advantage immediately. When you include zero “punch” upon engagement. The defender did exactly what any edge should do, play through him. If an OL steps back, you play through.

Good news is, you can’t teach that size, but can teach the technique.
