Pretty sure Deon Colzie took a redshirt b/c of injury last year. So he's got another if it's mutually agreeable. Don't sleep on him. The Javon McKinley plan!
Would be shocked if Colzie returns.

Glad Meadows is good again...whew. It would have been a bummer if he enrolled at ND with those pedestrian stats as a senior in HS. The board experts would have been upset taking him.
Fucking exactly!!... the chicken Littles on this board is hilarious... "we hired freeman to win these" they're fucking kids... they make short sighted decisions most of time.... there are reasons beyond the head coach's approach and recruiting angle, style, time, effort, money whatever the hell else people make decisions you have no damn clue why...... suck it the hell up and let the coaches do what they can do...a lot of little dick energy in here

Being an “elite recruiting coach” has been significantly neutralized by upfront NIL. I don’t really think you can blame Freeman like we did Kelly. Sherrone was a shitty recruiter until Michigan’s NIL funds hit 2 months ago.
I don’t get how ND preaches 4 for 40 as if the alumni is our biggest selling point & we get smoked in the NIL game..

I honestly didn’t realize how many massive billionaires were connected to Michigan.

You realize that “4 for 40” and “rich guys willing to buy football players” are two very different things, right?

So we are going to lose out on Meadows twice...move on.

With the surge that Michigan has had in recruiting, do any of these recruits question their possible sanctions??

I think a good lesson is to lock recruits up early and try to convince them to shut it down. If Meadows committed to ND while the staff was on vacation I think the chances he stays Irish are pretty good. ND has lacked the ability to seal the deal. ND is like that guy that thinks he has until 2am to lock it down but realizes later a lot can happen between 10p and 2a. It’s about 1am on the recruiting season and just the whores are available.

Eh. We locked up Deuce pretty early. Keeley, too. If you have to “try to convince them to shut it down,” they’re probably not going to stick.
The ones to lock down are the ones who don’t need convincing.

I agree and disagree. That’s two examples and I’m sure there are more we could name. I would guess this class would be more complete if “the ones that got away” didn’t and committed early on when we had them on campus. I’m not saying all stick but I’m saying some stick. The WR position it appears was slowed played at the very least. Get them committed and maybe some stick their word and shut it down… maybe they don’t… but I’m saying higher probability they stick.

No chance kids are flip flopping more than ever now we are better off letting kids take their visits then commiting

There are many battles ND sat on their hands thinking they had kids in the bag and then they lost them later. Sure you have to play the game and they might eventually flip. And let’s be real, everyone knew Deuce was as committed as Dante Moore wasn’t.

I’m not one to bitch about recruiting much but given our success this years I’d expect us to do a little better.

Well that may not be a very competitive strategy. We're about to sign 3 star DL, LBs, and 3 star WR room again.
Their strategy sucks so bad they are 6th in country. They need to scrap it and probably should just give up football. I hear the basketball team is doing good in recruiting granted they aren’t ranked but all that matters is recruiting rankings right.

6th now means nothing in 2026-2027 which is what this recruting class is for.
