Does he just release them around the time a prospect is announcing as a general rule?

Frankly, most of the time nowadays everyone knows where a prospect is going around the same time they set their announcement date

I can't even really remember the last one that was this much up in the air like with Meadows? KVA probably? And before that?

From everything I’ve read, Robinson is not coming and people have no idea on meadows. Prister doesn’t have any extra info

I wouldn’t say lots. And they’re always very strategically released.

Well it feels like once a source tells him ND is in the lead he writes them up. FWIW Meadows' Film Room was first published in January. It doesn't seem much more important than a Loy CB to me personally.

As far as this cycle goes Tanook Hines, Dalen Penson, Jack Lange all got film rooms, plus the decommits. Other than Damien Shanklin (who we learned was NEVER going to ND), I can't think of anyone who was CB'd at any point to ND and didn't get a film room, besides Faraimo which I'm sure is on the way.

I guess Dorian Brew too but that was just a stupid Loy CB.

I don't think it means Meadows is a lock to ND. But I also don't think he would release it if he knew Meadows was going somewhere else.

I don't recall him doing one for Jack Kiser, but I do recall Prister going out of his way at nearly every opportunity to state he wouldn't do anything at ND, to the point it got awkward on some pods...

It could have been because Anderson was injured most of last year IIRC…..Anderson got his offer from ND after working out for them in person.

I believe he said something like he didn’t see a Division 1 athlete when he looked at Anderson.

I don’t see a player who should be coming to Notre Dame on scholarship either, but he could *at least* probably get some snaps at a G5 level.

Why do posters think Kyren wasn't liked as a recruit? A lot of people were really excited about kyren as a prospect. I had concerns when he came on campus so out of shape/over weight. It forced a red shirt but then he got committed and re shaped his body, the rest is history.

I don't know anyone high on anderson as a prospect. Very different than Kyren.

Actually none of the championship teams best players came from the portal. Bama Michigan Georgia Clemson —— pretty much all from recruiting and development.

Some of those teams had significant contributions from transfers though. 2020 Bama’s starting center was a transfer from FSU and he was a consensus All American, won the Rimington, and was drafted in the second round. 2021 UGA’s top corner was a Clemson transfer and he had 2 picks against Michigan in the playoffs. Devonte Wyatt on that team was a community college transfer as well and he turned into a second team All American who started ahead of Jalen Carter. Michigan* had two starters on their offensive line that were both first team all conference transfer in that season along with their third leading tackler in Haussmann and second leading sacker in Stewart.

And if we (somehow) win it this year, we'll have significant portal help too. Doesn't change the fact that the vast majority of those teams are players who were recruited and developed. (unlike, say, FSU last season which was heavily portal). Recruiting's particularly important for us until we figure out a way to take more undergrad transfers.

Absolutely, but your top draft pick players aren't the ones you mention above (other than bama center). The teams got to where they are due to who they recruited out of HS, and filled a couple holes from the portal.

We did the exact same this year. QB is really the only position where top talent will hit the portal. Collins is probably the non qb portal player with the best/only chance to be drafted in the first 5 rounds if he wins position over Thomas/Colzie.
