2nd TD proved to be the winner.

He’s having a huge year and has been outperforming his OSU commit teammate De’zie Jones. He’s up to 8 TD catches on the year, doing it against some of the best competition in the country

I really like to subtlety in his game. The first clip you posted for the long gain, he did push off but he did it so early that the refs would never notice but gave him all the separation he needed to make the catch. Sometimes receivers push off as the ball is getting there and it's too obvious.

  • Previous rank: 3-star, No. 615 overall
  • New rank: 4-star, No. 231 overall

The DePaul Catholic offense was touted nationally as a powerhouse going into the season, four-star 2026 quarterback Derek Zammit and Top247 Ohio State receiver commit De'zie Jones regularly cited as the notable playmakers.

Six straight wins in as many contests later, Elijah Burress is named alongside Zammit and Jones as the names of note alongside a teammate on the other side of the ball in Composite four-star Ohio State safety commit DeShawn Stewart.

Burress opened the season with three touchdown receptions on four catches for 104 yards. He followed with two catches for 97 yards and a touchdown a week later. And over the last two games, Burress has recorded eight catches for 238 yards and three touchdowns.

With a half-dozen games under his belt, he's recorded 18 catches for 535 yards and eight touchdowns, good enough for a nearly 30-yard per-reception average. So, this added star is no surprise to anyone who's been paying attention to the young receiver this year.

Leapfrogging his OSU commit teammate in the 247 rankings. Who'd have thought we'd have a more touted receiver prospect than the Buckeyes on the same HS team?

His film has always been way better than his ranking. Nice to see the jump.

So when do we lose him?
Has OSU come calling yet?
Didn't see last night's game highlights, but he's been wearing ND accessories during his games in a telltale sign of wear a kids head is at..

And he was back for stanford.

5 TD’s 377 yards does have two INT maybe the staff let’s him play defense if we can land another WR
Could be a good box safety or safety/lb hybrid. Possession receiver maybe has some value. Strong kid

Most impressive thing is you can see how good his route running already is, and can expect that to get better at ND. Dude is gonna be a menace against man coverage.

So often you see an elite receivers tape is go-routes, hitches, or smoke screens, where you’re just letting your best guy do his thing. And there’s nothing wrong with that!

But you can see that Burress has route-running in his DNA (and probably in his daily routine at home since he was 3).

Who are these burress haters of which you speak?
There have been quite a bit hating on both Burress and Bettis …. Complaining that this is “all we can get” …. Regardless, that video of Burreess sure looks the part.

This is fucking hilarious. He's anywhere from 24th to 124th at his position among this year's national senior class of HS WR.

Maybe 23 guys better than him, maybe 123. Who knows. Let's charge people $100+ a year for this shit, call it "premium" and they'll slurp it down as gospel.

It's genius.
