Wiltfong says that the momentum is with Auburn right now.

From Deuce’s father:
Yep, and I just don't see it swinging back in NDs direction at this stage in the cycle. Probably just a matter of time before he decommits. I'm to the point where I'm just considering him as an uncommitted prospect that's higher on other schools. It's not impossible but there's no reason to be excited about him coming to ND at this point.

Time to start trying to flip other QBs. Can't be caught flat footed like we have so many times on obvious decommits like Peyton Bowen.

He spurned Bama for a 3rd rate Auburn? Lol wow. Also his dad saying “It’s 4 years of his life.” Dude what about the life after that 4 yrs? Auburn name doesn’t have the reach or the weight in the NFL that ND does. Just chasing the quick bag. Lol

If Deuce leaves the class at any point it's a huge loss, no other way to spin it. If he is developed right, he could potentially be a generational Cam Newton type of QB at the college level. ND really doesn't get talent like his at the QB position very often. And that's not even getting into how Deuce is essentially Denbrock's prototype QB, a Jayden Daniels type of athlete that just needs his mechanics and decision making refined to reach his highest potential. No way around it, losing Deuce could be the difference between competing for championships a few yrs from now and more of the same ole, same ole. You can't find athleticism like his in the portal at QB and there isn't even another QB in this class that measures up to his testing numbers. Obviously that doesn't guarantee he'll be a success, but again, Denbrock's been great with developing his kind of talent.
This!!!

Missed a zero there, dad.
In all seriousness though, this whole situation sucks. Like Keeley and Moore all over again.

It used to be, broadly speaking, parents were in our corner. They understood what going to Notre Dame could mean for their children over the long run in the real world and they nudged borderline cases in our direction. Think Mama Lynch, may God bless her and keep her.

Now? Some of them anyway, they see the money on the table and (I might be projecting, as a sports parent myself) think about the time and money invested in their little superstar, and they figure nothing in life is guaranteed but life-altering money in the bank comes pretty close. And so they maybe nudge a kid who personally wants what Notre Dame offers to think more about other places that'll offer more right now today. And you know what? They're not really wrong.

It just fucking sucks. Money has a way of changing things for the worse.

OK, dismounting the soap box. I'm gonna go pour my third Jameson.

You and anyone else thought MF without any national titles and great success was going to just stop kids from chasing a bag or whatever else is ticking for them to go elsewhere... he'll get us in houses we weren't getting into with bk but those players that are chasing bag, interested in factories putting players in nfl etc with any of the top players it's only going to net us a5* from time to time.. and not consistently... that's on you and anyone else who thought that... we're playing schoolthat in of itself weeds out enough

I mean Hugh Freeze and Auburn vs Freeman and ND? I hope he goes to ND but if he is all about the former is he really a ND fit? Freeze is a notorious scumbag.

The belief that his recruiting prowess would take ND to the next level was the whole reason ND hired him and his main selling point

If he wasn't going to be able to deliver the goods in recruiting--what then was he bringing to the table as a head coach with ZERO previous experience?--serious question, I'll wait

Can someone please tell me if you were a super athlete in todays game who first priority wasnt getting an education, why would you choose ND? I mean, the weather is abysmal. The woman look like men. ND isnt a worldbeater in football anymore and you actually have to attend class. It blows my mind how everyone expects these top 5 classes nationally from a school that doesnt offer what todays top athlete wants: easy street, hot babes, mega wins and easy cash. Granted, going to Auburn sure doesnt guarantee the third point but it does give the other three.

MFMF will win a National Championship before Knight is eligible to take a snap in College

There’s only so many players that can start for the football factories, and nd has as big of exposure as anyone. Then there’s just morals in general and trusting the school and staff you’re going to.

Would suck, but at this point, as long as they can keep Minchey and carr and add grubbs in 26...oh well...go be Dante moore 2.0. Always makes me wonder how schools like bama can stack 5 star after 5 star at the same position, and we can't keep what we have.

Besides being in the south, Bama was THE premier college program/NFL factory for over 10 years. Saban, a proven winner, only continued to win at an elite level and pace. It's pretty clear IMO why they were able to keep the cupboards stocked.

100% agree....but man, their rb room, dl, lb, db....I know they were the premier school, but still amazes me with today's kids that they were still willing to wait their turn. Their rb room was nuts from Ingram on
