I doubt that but never know
I say that based on stuff coming from AAU basketball folks in Indiana.
I doubt that but never know
We flip other schools’ recruits every cycle. Pretty sure Pitt saw Minchey as a flip risk from the moment we offered last year, for instance. They’d have been stupid not to.Side question: Why is it that a ND lean is a flip risk if school x offers, but if player Y is committed elsewhere and ND offers he is never a flip to ND risk?
I believe he said he might take one more, but he is close to deciding. His article with Loy said he might take other visits or one more unless it’s all hear say
Tae realizes his best chance of maximizing his potential is at Safety.Never understood the freak out over safety this cycle.
They're gonna sign so many guys that Tae will get his wish and be a WR.

With you on fans losing their minds, but concern was/is warranted when comparing the board to last years, imo.People were/are losing their minds about Safety recruiting, and by tomorrow ND could have both Mencke & Tae Johnson in the class.
Your AAU basketball sources? In Indiana?Source?
Not what I heard.
Johnson was always a take football-wise.With you on fans losing their minds, but concern was/is warranted when comparing the board to last years, imo.
Last year at this time, we had Shuler and Bowen in the boat with Caleb Downs and some other legit prospects visiting.
I like the upside of the guys visiting, particularly Johnson, but there's still a difference between this year's and last. And two weeks ago, Johnson wasn't a take according to the beat.

My source is here in Indiana, where I’m at, who is involved with Indiana HS recruiting. Talked to him about it last Saturday, at a get together that had quite a few D1 prospects from Indiana at it, including Ian Moore.
Why do you think he pushed so hard to get his grades up to get into ND when he could go play WR a bunch of other places?
The ND staff was able to show him his value at Safety.
Also is path to playing time sooner would be at safetyYour AAU basketball sources? In Indiana?

I think pro and con to having to nationally recruit way more than other topSide question: Why is it that a ND lean is a flip risk if school x offers, but if player Y is committed elsewhere and ND offers he is never a flip to ND risk?
His training crew has also been trying to convince him of his upside at safety vs. WR, which obviously helps with ND’s defensive pitch.Yes, I'm from Michiana. My circle of friends is mostly basketball as that's my background. My football connections besides a few buddies who still coach / officiate is from my fondness of football recruiting and my past internet presence.
When Tae goes to ND and never gets a look at WR, I'll believe it. I can tell you the words WR have very recently come out his mouth.
Without having on3 access, I'm thinking out loud.![]()
The Gold Standard: Scoop on Notre Dame’s major recruiting weekend
Blue & Gold's Mike Singer has been working the phones for his latest Notre Dame recruiting intel in this week's Gold Standard report.www.on3.com
Interesting that Singer has a much more negative view than the rest here.

The number is 4 safeties with Urlacher being one of them. Tae Johnson and Davis Andrews could pop this weekend. Anthony Robinson just camped. Ziglar and Oliver Miles are still possibilities.
Sounds like Mencke left campus without committing. Could backfire for him as far as his ND recruitment goes.

He wanted to commit, but has to cancel his other visits.Mencke is a silent
well that sucksHe wanted to commit, but has to cancel his other visits.
Turns out he hasn’t so ND told him they are still looking then.
With Johnson on campus & multiple other Safties coming on visits, ND isn’t waiting.
Mencke will have to cancel his visits or he is out.
Sounds like he still is doing the visits, so his silent is no more.
Ehh I don't like the strategy at all but I can see why they are doing it perfect Example Peyton BowenDidn’t the staff use this strategy last year and kinda backfire on them in December?
But, I agree. Risking your spot at ND because you want to visit Duke, Stanford and Washington is dumb. Maybe I’m biased.
He could still decide to cancel the visits.I am going to reserve judgement until we get final word here, but can't imagine why he'd give up ND in favor of Duke, Stanford, or Washington.
If he's not Irish soon I think his spot is going to.get claimed by someone else.
