NJ gonna be big for ND in 2024. You're, Adon Shuler's, team mate is also a stud. He and Sanders would be huge gets.

Loy hinted that there will be a commit this week. Limar isn’t supposed to announce for two more weeks. Wafle seems to be the best bet IMO. Unless, someone like Greathouse pulls a surprise.

So am I going to be in trouble for saying this is the Kelly/Elston aisle and not MF/Washington aisle...

I wondered the same thing elsewhere & got hammered.
With Swain already a commit & ND showing the ability to recruit elite DL now, I’m not sure if it’s a good idea taking this commitment this far out.
ND could probably recruit all top 50-100 DL in the ‘24 class. If they push & get Justin Scott, they would already have three DL commits.

I would want more vypers than these bigger hybrids. Scott, 2 vypers, and the current commit. Waggle seems redundant

Implying Wafle isn’t a elite DL? I disagree.

By the time this kid enrolls, there might not even be scholarship limits to worry about anymore.

It’s nice that we’re at a point where we’re even debating if we should take a 4* DE lol.

I think he is good.
He’s not elite.
In the ‘23 class of Keeley, Vernon, Traore, Houstan & we will say Moore…who do you think Wafle is better than?
I don’t think any of them.

Keeley's the only guaranteed elite player in my book. And by elite I mean Chase Young level. I'm sure someone's gonna be as good as Jillery or hopefully Sheldon Day but they all won't be.

I mean, most thought Darnell Ewell was going to be a monster and that Hinish was the player to be named later in the David Adams deal.

And sometimes "things change" later in the cycle and someone decommits and ends up at Michigan St. You ain't ever locked in.

I will say this about Wafle, he's different athletically and has plus build.

It’s not mutually exclusive. Houstan and Vernon are the only two on that list that could play inside in a similar fashion to Wafle. I think Wafle is on par as a Top 100 - 200 prospect with both, especially if he grows and his freaky measurables continue to hold.

Wafle seems like the type of player that needs a year maybe even two, but Balis turns into an absolute monster.

But what about Brandon Davis-Swain? He is kind of in the same mold...

Wafle is definitely not an elite DL. He’s a solid prospect that I’d be very happy to have. Elite is reserved for future first round picks.

The biggest jump in development in HS is from your Soph. season to ones JR. season. So if you're going to compare Wafle(WAY-FULL) to those guys do it to there Soph. tape and not what they did last season. Using that criteria only Vernon and Moore would rank ahead of him.

IMO he's extremely similar to Traore. I don't think he's in the same mold BDS. Waffle might be listed as an Edge but he's an interior prospect that in ND's system he's a fit at 3T as well as at Nose.

Getting solid low 4 star guys early that are very likely to stick allows you to swing for the fences to round out the class. Let’s not pretend Wafle is Donovan Hinish either here.

Love it. Think it’s a perfect strategy.

Agree with Ricochet. Davis-Swain is in this line of SDE/3 Tech depending how the develop like Mills, Ford, Traore, (and Jason Moore). Wafle would be exclusively inside

Agreed. Wafle moves pretty well for a kid his size. He actually reminds a lot of what I thought Hunter Spears could've been if hadn't gotten injured. Quick first step and has good leverage.

I really like Wafle and think some here are sleeping on just how good he is. The kid is long, really long in that he's got an '82 wingspan. He's in the 6'2 to 6'3 range currently but they say he wears a size 17 shoe and that his Dad is 6'6. He's got 2 more years left and plenty of realistic growth projection that his height will catch up with his length which is freakish.

Currently his talent is the same as BDS. They are both Top 100 talents if not better IMO.

I think his upside is huge. He's really fast for a DT, really strong and really athletic who should get taller and has freakishly long wingspan.

He's really, really good and not a pass by any means. Would love to see him partnered with Justin Scott as ND's interior D LINE Class in '24.
