Beat me to it
That was so weird. It was like they were rooting for Minchey for some reason.Remember when the beat all said he was weird for warming up alone at the beginning of one (1) practice. What a time to be alive.
I think some people just want to be right at all costs. That was so weird. It was like they were rooting for Minchey for some reason.
No disrespect to Minchey, he is a helluva talented QB and wish him the best at UK, but I'm glad Carr is our guy.
Yep. It was pretty fun being a part of a message board that was smoking the beat lolMerckx was spot on with his CJ assessment also. Too bad some people got all weird on here and chased him away.
The arrow saga was pretty eye opening. Made me wonder why anyone would pay for intel from the beat clowns. It was such an odd dynamic, they refused to believe that Minchey could improve over spring and summer and once they got a shred of intel that he looked in practice they decided that Carr had to be a turnover machine after seeing Tae Johnson pick him off a couple times. Then when our very own arrow watch practice with his own eyes, they tried to discredit what he saw. Then after all that, they acted like Carr was always going to start and anyone who thought otherwise was dumb.
It's not just a stats-based award though. More than anything, it's become a popularity contest. Are you the QB on the #1 team in the country with above average stats? Congratulations you get a Heisman. Agree with your point re: Carr vs. BYU and Miami. He'll still need a couple "moments" to get across the finish line.I just think we're going to be up by so much is so many games that he's going to have trouble having the stats to win. He's going to need to absolutely ball out against both BYU and Miami to make up for it.
Betting on an RB to win the Heisman? Just light your money on fire man. Also, watch Keelon Russell/Bama lose 4 games.I have JKS 80/1, Isaac Brown 300/1, and Keelon Russell 80/1
Brown and JKS you can still get at same prices if you shop around. Russell is down to 30/1 best price. I bet Mendoza mid year last year for a reasonable W but not what others managed pre-season. Bet Jeanty the year prior at something insane like Brown above, gave me a huge hedge opp with Hunter. IMO social media has a large influence on the Heisman now. Very narrative driven. Mendoza shouldn’t have sniffed a Heisman LY. I think Carr may not face enough adversity to win unless he puts forward truly immaculate stats like Sayin did last year, he just torpedo’d his chances with B1G Championship. Price isn’t attractive to me.

What the hell are the Bowen brothers doing at the Manning passing camp?“…when Eli and Peyton know who the guy is…” Goodness, that is just wow…
- they don’t know ball.
- they see themselves as the guardians of expectation setting. Fortuna in particular had a bizarre quote related to this.
You made 10k by hedging on Hunter? Who was already at or near the top of the board by mid-season? I'm calling BS on that one. Good luck with your bets though.I made over 10K knowing I had Jeanty in my pocket on a hedge. I also could have cashed out literally all season at a profit. Not winning doesn’t mean a futures bet holds no value.

You're full of shit bud. Hunter was a massive favorite in week 12. That's how Google works.Jeanty was to win like 25K. He was going to be 2nd or worse. Hunter, yes, was around even money in like Week 12 or so. Bet 10K to win 10K. That’s how a hedge works.

Tell me more. I love Fortuna hate, but was not aware of him saying something dumb about Carr/gatekeeping expectations
Seems like it’s someone’s time of the month. We were talking about Carr for Heisman before you veered off course, so thanks for steering us all back to that. I gave my reasons why I think our QB wins the Heisman without getting into granular details re: value and hedging. We're all happy for you, but please educate us more on this high level concept of hedging.
It might be me hearing things, but in yesterday's podcast, it sure seemed like Fortuna grew up a ND fan?Fortuna barely knew anything about ND when he was exclusively covering ND. I have no idea why Sampson keeps dragging him along. It's just embarrassing how little he knows about the program at this point, and it's been that way for years.
