I don't know if it was yesterday or Monday but coming out of his OSU OV, that was his sentiment.
So it would seem OSU is the favorite now?

If it was ND, wouldn’t he just take his last visit to PSU?
Cancelling it after visiting OSU makes me think he was sold by them?

There’s no such thing as a “must get” recruit, but Lambert feels like a pivotal piece for the overall outlook on this class.

Not gonna post his exact quote, but it was something to the effect of liking OSU going into his PSU visit, but that ND was the team to watch because of his background. It was a weird post and I get the sense no insiders know anything hence no info has come out on where he's leaning or what it means since his post about PSU visit cancelation.

If ND managed to get Lambert & Nelson, that would be a top offensive class nationally.
Agree, i like many others are very high on both. I'm actually higher on Nelson than Roberts. But would be excited with both. I think Nelson has higher potential but Roberts will probably come in more game ready.

Wouldn’t that be something if Heistand leaving Notre Dame cost them an elite LT prospect to OSU *twice*?

Lambert does not really seem to play the usual recruiting games - no camp circuit, just a few visits, little press - so, yeah, he’s hard to read.
Everyone else seemed to think OSU did not move the needle though, right?

I have no clue about the innerworkings of this kids decision. But it seems like there can only be two logical explanations.

1. Strong desire to go to ND after visit but went on two OV's just to make sure. Was still feeling the love after pOSU and decided going on PSU visit was a waste of time.

2. Went on pOSU visit, loved it all, and he decided he wanted to be a Buckeye so he canceled his PSU visit.

I can make a case for both, but the 2nd option feels far more plausible. I haven't followed his recruiting closely, so who knows.

Spent a few moments on Elevenwarriors and they don't seem to know much, just speculation. One person commented that one Buckeye Recruitnik - Andrew Ellis a Lettermen Row Contributor didn't like the Buckeye's chances

i here that the buckeyes have a good shot with 5 star Baker out of the southern cal area and so they wouldn't be hurting by missing out on Lambert if they get the other.

On the IB show they just quickly commented on it when asked. I don’t think they knew the PSU visit was cancelled until it was asked.

They said it made since because PSU is full at OL and Lambert really isn’t interested in going there. Said they still feel good about ND’s chances.

Ohio State seems to be trending with Mater Dei OT Baker too

Penn State just had a OT decommit about a week ago. So I'm not sure if they are really full or not. He still may not have had much interest.

Visiting Harvard instead.

As I’ve been saying, the Ivy League is a bigger threat than NIL.
I don’t get the point of going to Harvard for him. If he wants to go to Harvard, then go there for grad school when it matters more and if the NFL is over or doesn’t happen. Good grades at ND will get him into Harvard for grad school.

Losing a big time recruit to Harvard.
Can you imagine the blue hairs?
THIS IS WHY WE NEED BETTER ACADEMICS
In the late 1970s ND lost two recruits to Harvard -both had signed LOIs with ND...but Harvard didn't have to honor Div 1 LOI:

1977 DE Dave Otto from Seattle Prep in Wash signed an ND LOI but went to Harvard
assume his admission letter from Harvard came sometime AFTER he signed with ND
Otto was 2nd Team All Ivy as a senior

1979 NT Scott Murrer from Cincinnati St Xavier signed a ND LOI...but ended up at Harvard
star NT who signed with the Dallas Cowboys after graduation...fast..a BIG sprinter on the Harvard track squad..ran the 100, but mostly anchor of mile relay team

Ironically, the Head Football Coach of Harvard in those years - who signed those players away from ND, was Joe Restic Sr....who had sent his own son to ND in the '75 ND recruiting class..the son was a starting FS and punter on the '77 Irish National Champs
