That doesn't sound sobering if that's what Loy said.

Let me clarify. He doesn't feel as good as he once did, but he's not moving his CB off ND. A visit to ND for the BBQ or if he goes into the fall uncommitted likely means ND*.

I put the * because this is a battle to the very end.

I don't think it was a positive or negative update really. More negative about the others if anything outside of Lambert.

Question since I don’t subscribe to 247.

On IB Driskell put it out there that Elston was straight outworking Washington for Scott. He then double-downed on it.

I’ve heard Loy called him out on that?
Evidently Loy said that wasn’t true & Driskell was just stirring things up?

Did you see that?

I've truthfully ignored most the updates on Scott so there is the chance I missed it, but all he says about Elston is that he is doing a great job on Scott and the family

I find it interesting ISD has never mentioned Scott visiting for the BBQ, not even yesterday Matt Freeman's update. I get the feel this BBQ plan is more of a ND home than anything of substance. Matt Freeman doesn't miss on context typically.

He basically said he doesn’t know where that’s coming from and it’s not true.

I wouldn’t sweat over any of it regarding Scott right now.

It’s a different narrative every week coming from the recruiting insiders.

If Scott doesn’t visit in July for the BBQ, then I would be under a larger impression that he’s not coming to ND.

I am sure Elston relishes the opportunity to land Scott away from ND to Michigan. Al, Golden and Freeman are asleep at the switch. Feels BKish.

"Again"?

I don't follow recruiting all that closely, but if Scott goes to Michigan, has Elston won a lot of head to heads against this staff? (Not being sarcastic - I truly don't know the answer).
Bottom dollar says he's including Wafle and Smith in there.

"Chicago" and "Saint" being involved in the recruit's high school makes it a slam dunk because, you know, the 1950s called and said they want their recruiting back.

Stupid troll feeder pandering by Zaire.

Yep.

Last year, and someone can check this to see the real number, ND got commits from like 14 kids with Michigan offers and Michigan had like 1 or 2.
This year ND passed on the Smith twins, processed Wafle & chose Kahoun over Sullivan.
ND also got Carr, Young, Cam Williams, Gilbert, Larsen, Jones, Prescod, and probably Lambert all over Michigan.

247 board in complete meltdown as if the kid is already committed to UM. This will go into December no matter what happens this summer.

That was my recollection as well. Elston has not fared well recruiting kids ND was also prioritizing, which is why Zaire's comment jumped out at me.

Don't ask me to choose between Zaire and Jurkovec for least likeable former ND player
Jerk hasn’t even finished playing yet, give him more time to simmer…
I bet the week of the ND/Pitt game he pisses on the Grotto or something & says Jesus is culturally appropriating Christians.

They've made the playoffs two straight years, beat OSU twice and almost won a playoff game.

They're better than us lately

Ehh I wouldn't say they're better than us lately. We were beating Ohio State with a new QB for 3 quarters last year put Hartman in that game we win by 2 touchdowns. Their schedule is also a lot softer than us.

That’s not even what we were talking about.

The discussion was literally about Elston recruiting against ND. So recruiting the past two cycles.

You are talking about something completely different. But with that being said…

And over the past 5 seasons ND went to two CFPs, lost both times to the national champs, Michigan lost to a team who lost 65-7. ND also want to NY6 game & won more games overall than Michigan.

Michigan is having a great run. It's unfortunate as an ND fan. I would agree with you about them being better lately if we're talking literally just the last 2 years. I don't think we should forget though that Michigan literally faked COVID cases to get out of playing Ohio State in 2020, while ND made the playoff. ND's success since 2010 is way more notable than Michigan's IMO. I think they'd have to 3peat in the BIG and make the playoffs again to surpass ND's success.

To tie it back to Scott, recruiting is very much a "what have you done for me lately", hence making Michigan's previous class perplexing, but they've figured it out to some extent this year.

I always wondered how a kid who left ND can come back an do a "pro ND" pod. And people will listen. I listened for about 5 minutes of that hot garbage.

I mean, I imagine if Brandon Wimbush did a ND pod, he'd be pretty positive towards ND, despite his situation being fairly similar.

I have to wonder how much of the fallout with Malik was the "promise" Kelly made to tell him he was the starter, only for Kizer to play his way into the role and the ensuing dumpster fire that was the QB situation in '16.

they haven't won a bowl game in over 5 years i believe and plus we just won 10 plus games 5 years in a row until last season so they aren't better than us right now.

He’s going to go to the Notre Dame BBQ unless Elston pays one of his coworkers to call off at Starbucks so he has to pick up their shift.

Recruiting’s nasty work.
