That could be happening but I don’t think it’s related. By accounts, Mukam wasn’t part of what O’Malley called “the purge” aka players they were fine with leaving. Without Onye, you only have Hughes, Mullins, Sevilano, Dixon and Sulfsted returning depending on Burgess/Reiff projection. You could have landed Gilliam and Ibirogba and still wanted Mukam back just due to bodies.

I think ND smartened up and realized you can't ask Mukam to come back at 50k off of his 2025 production & snaps when he's expected to take on a bigger role in '26.

We don’t even know that he’s gonna contribute that much more.

If he were to be here for four years even at 50,000 a year with no other expenses, he walks away from college with a degree if he is serious about academics with 150 K.

Say what you want, that’s not a bad life to start out. I don’t feel sorry for him.

I would say little to none. I would bet over half of the locker room got what they consider “fair” money. If they didn’t you would see the
Transfer number even hiring.

That's what kind of boggles my mind about the Irish trying to recruit in the portal. Just about every one of their current players has representation, so you would think the staff already has relationships with a bunch of agents and has dealt with said agents when dealing with their team. Agents represent multiple players across multiple teams. You would think the ND staff already has working relationships with these agents, that's how they were able to lock up their most of their current guys. Why it is so hard to deal with the exact same agents to bring guys in from outside?

Relationships don’t matter with agents. Their clients (the players) tell them to find the best deal for me. The agent is going to get them what they asked for. The more money for the player the more money for the agent. Again it’s all about the money.

Thats what I dont understand...they are scared to release visitors, yet agents are leaking info I am sure all over the place and we have egg on our face. Its just...a weird optic for me.
