Malik Muhammad visited South Bend before he was even in high school.

“It was a live atmosphere,” he said of the game against Nevada in 2017. “The fans are loud, like loud. That might've been a lot of game I ever went to.”

Muhammad is hoping to return now that he has an offer from the Irish.

The full article is premium but I thought that was an interesting quote considering the complaints of low energy crowd atmosphere, espeacially back then.

Is that one of Tate’s fellow IMG brothers that is taking notice of ND. That doesn’t suck

ND made a positive move has been the sentiment I have seen from 247 and Rivals from his visit. Not someone it’d be a sure thing we’d be part of his recruitment and sounds like should be moving forward.

Muhammad was one of the highest ranked guys to visit that weren’t the Moore, Bowen etc group that we knew we already had a chance.

Said he is not to the degree to make a CB but if he had to…..

Irish right now.

EDIT: Looks like didn’t end up transferring to IMG?

Read an article on 247 sports. I believe he played his sophmore year at IMG. But transferred to Texas because he was told playing 2 ways would be best for his recruitment and get him exposure. IMG doesn't play dudes both ways

That's what I read also. He said that he wants to blow up this season and become a 5 star and he thinks playing both ways, returning kicks/punts, etc is the best way to achieve that.

It sure is.

Gotta love where '23 DB recruiting is at. Lots of options and visits getting scheduled. In some cases we could get 3 visits from some of these guys before they make decisions.

If I was forced to wager money on which high end CB prospect was going to land in South Bend, it would be Muhammad. Irish in a VERY good spot right here.

Ahhh gotcha. Saw the CB for Rhett, but no prediction ISD/247 for Muhammad yet. Maybe Muhammad is a ninja, eh Lucky?

Has it been known he plans to come to 3 GAMES?

Loy said here he will be at UC and is planning on USC and UNC too. You’d be hard pressed to get a Chicago kid to that even

Visited pOSU for their loss to Oregon
Technically visited Arkansas for the game at AT&T stadium against A&M. Not sure if he has legitimate interest in Arkansas or was in attendance because of interest in A&M

https://www.cleveland.com/osu/2021/...ate-and-more-buckeyes-recruiting-roundup.html

Muhammad said he wants to make trips to Alabama, Auburn, Oregon, Ole Miss, Michigan and Michigan State. The first three programs’ head coaches — Nick Saban, Bryan Harsin and Mario Cristobal — have all personally reached out to him as well.

This weekend, Muhammad has plans to visit Arkansas for its game against Texas A&M. He’s also eyeing return visits to Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Texas A&M. The Buckeyes are on that list too.

“I plan on going up to another game, whether it’s this season or next season,” he said. “Well, by that time (next season), I’ll be committed somewhere. I plan on going back up to Ohio State.”

Later this fall, Muhammad intends to narrow down his top schools. A commitment date is still a little way down the road but the idea is to have his school before his senior season kicks off.
