The local recruiting Class of 2023 is already making headlines with talented players and Power 5 offers, but perhaps none is as exciting as Brashear safety/linebacker Ta’Mere Robinson.

Robinson has had offers from schools such as Pitt, Penn State, Syracuse, West Virginia and Michigan for over a year now, and has since added a few more big-name offers, including SEC schools like Tennessee, Kentucky and Arkansas.

On Sunday, the hype only grew further for Robinson. During the semifinal with his 7-on-7 team, Evolve, the 6-foot-4 Robinson pulled off a marvelous one-handed interception in the back of the end zone to seal the win. Robinson and Evolve would go onto to win the championship and complete an undefeated season.

The video of the impressive pick earned plenty of attention on social media, and it appeared to even catch the eye of Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi.

On May 21, Robinson announced that he will be making an unofficial visit to Pitt on June 1.

Robinson’s trainer Dee Brown talked to PSN on Monday about his steadily increasing value as a player.

“Ta’Mere is very mature beyond his years,” Brown said. “He’s a natural born leader. Ta’Mere right now is probably the first guy that I’ve trained that can play on three levels of the defense. I really think that, on the next level, he’ll be one of them outside linebackers that can pass rush. He’s 6-foot-3, 6-foot-4 around 215, 220, and he can cover, because he started out as a safety the ninth grade year.”

“Now he’s probably gonna move down into the box and be more of a linebacker, but I just know that he could end up being a defensive end, we don’t know. He might get to 245, 250 when he’s in college, but with his athletic ability, he could still go and cover but he might be a pass rusher, so now, with him working on that pass rushing ability right now, and then he refines that, then how many kids you see like that in the country?”

This is an interesting one because I'd like to know what they saw to move him down from #67 to #148. If anything, this is a guy that's been growing on me quite a bit. He's starting to look like a legit LB. Maybe they just refuse to grade him as such?

LB. I think his size and length will be used like Liufau’s was going to be and how Freeman has talked to Sneed about a lot of blitzing and rushing the passer. But, he’ll do it from the “Will” position in the depth chart.

Feel bad for the young man. It happened in front of Freeman and Franklin from PSU.

Weird, it looks like he deleted the tweet. He posted that he had a possible ACL/MCL tear and is done for season.

He was definitely a hot name before the injury. However, the injury he sustained, Both ACL/MCL tear, is very severe. Haven’t seen anything to suggest how the staff will approach this. Previously, I’d be right there with ya as he would the the next best up after Sonny chose OSU.

Zinter and Picciotti are on the board but I hope they wait on those two. Maybe take a step back and see how the board looks after the season.
