Truly a case of committing too early. Oh Player A is committing soon he looks good move him up. Oh Player B looked good in camp move him up. Well who do we move down? That Brenan Vernon kid haven’t heard from in a while let him drop.

I dont follow recruiting close enough to understand this.

Is the problem here that scouting services think he peaked early or is it that he committed early and hasn't kept his name in the news so he drops?

This stuff is confusing. Oh well. Hope he is great for us!

Typically it's the latter. The more uncommitted five stars, the more clicks you'll get later in the season.

I also don't think he does a ton of camps. Either way, him being a .90 is criminal imo

Possibly this but might not be quite as good as some have/had him ranked …

IMO there’s a Brenan Vernon file out there that they haven’t opened in months. I think they just aren’t even evaluating him and just others are leapfrogging.

You don’t get the offers he did as a sophomore / junior unless you have top 150 talent. He’s not a 5 star but he’s certainly not a fringe 4 star.

In his most recent ratings Prister had him as the 11th best recruit in the 20-person class, and that seems about right.

Consensus seems to be that he definitely wasn't the 5* we thought he was originally, so from there it's just bickering over how far he should drop. Low four-star instead of mid four-star seems defensible, any lower than that and we can start to riot.

Damn he was top 15ish on Rivals when he committed. Regardless of ranking I’m still happy to have him in this class.
