The dude is nothing if not a politician.

“He said if you come here, academics will be the most important thing here. He told me he wants me to go through this program together, and we could change LSU.”
“If we try our hardest and work together, we can break the 5 way tie for 172nd best National University on the US News and World report! And fix the library while we’re at it.”

Says the guy whose professors are pissed is getting so much money while they can barely make ends meet...

I'm surprised Burnt Ends took time out of his busy schedule to talk to him or knew who he was.

I have thought since Steeples got hired that he lands there, but his comments to me feel like a post-visit high that do not reflect reality. If he was raving about LSU's corner development and history, then you would think ND is in trouble here. If he is serious about the academic aspect, then basic research and stats will bode well for ND once the high wares off.
True, but we are dealing with teenagers. So many variables.

Surprise trip to Alabama and offer. Loy and Singer say ND is still confident. Idk, hasn’t felt right to me. He is at the Pylon 7-7 where Loy/Singer are (I assume why he decided to make Alabama visit work) so we should hear more from him.

I overreact to these things, but seeing "Keep God First" under Saban's picture unnerves me.

The major updates from this was he’s eyeing July 4th as his commitment date due to personal story with grandfather who passed.

Also this visit replaces Spring Game visit. I’m gonna guess he’ll be at LSU instead which would be another bummer to the list. Could be track or something though

I have consummate respect for Nick Saban.
His faith is solid.
And he is a committed monogamist.
He speaks rarely, but with affection and respect, of his wife.

Like Christ, I have no use, none, for divorced people.
Christ loves Divorced people just as much as you & me.
That’s the whole point of Christ’s love, it’s unconditional.
I always find in interesting when Christians try to tell others who Christ does & doesn’t love….He loves everybody the same, 100% unconditionally.

That, absolutely, is correct. But Christ, ever loving sinners WHO REPENTED. Still spoke against lust and divorce,. In a nutshell that is the story of the Woman at the Well. She was thrice an outcast. Samaritan, five marriages and drawing water alone. He, patiently, explained empathized and coached her up. But she had to recognize,

Couple of things:

1) Saban is far from a saint. He has manipulated and lied to people with the best of them while maintaining a straight face. Please never confuse Saban with a great guy or a Godly man.
2) Divorce is no greater than any other sin that you and I commit daily. If we did not, we would have no need for a Risen Savior. As is, we need Him daily. A sin is a sin in the eyes of a Righteous and Holy God. Whether it is divorce, fornication, homosexuality, theft or even distain for others through words, there is no difference. All must come, repent and turn from their ways to the Savior that embraces them unconditionally if we do so.

I don’t want to rain on anyone’s Easter Parade, but we have a thread to discuss all things religion.
