I was on campus yesterday and saw a recruit at the grotto. I couldn’t get close enough to see what the name was on his tag thing.

I looked at the 2022 class pics and none of them looked like who I saw. Then I remembered that Christian Gray was visiting. After looking at his recruit profile pic, that’s definitely who I saw.

He was freezing his ass off but I hope he had a good time!

Staff did a great job of getting a bunch of big time DB’s on campus in the summer and fall. Now hopefully they can capitalize on those visits. Gray and Tease have been to ND a ton. I think the staff turnover at OU could help ND with Micah Tease and maybe grab him while OU is still licking their wounds. I really hope Gray is the next on board and then the staff can go all in on a guy or two more!

Steeples was previously the HC at DeSmet. A very well liked and influential man to a lot of those young men. I guess the assumption might be that this gives LSU an in with Christian.

The rules been amended a few times I believe, but I think they can as Steeples is a full time on field staff member. Hiring into an off field role gets the 2 year restriction.

I don’t know how the rule applies here as he spent a year with the Vikings. So, LSU isn’t hiring Christian’s current HC. Steeples was assistant ST’s coach with the Vikings this past season.
