Yeah, I'm not buying it for a second. He's a receiver 100%.

You have Shuler and Bowen in the fold already, and you're in good shape with Caleb Downs and Ryan Yaites. You also have Daeh McCullough as backup with Deland on staff.

A lot of options that I would put ahead of Hanafin at safety. Not so much at receiver.

A follow up for some perspective, Nolan Ziegler is listed at 6’3 205 on und.com. Ronan’s highlight film has him at 6’3, 208. I’d bet that 208 is generous but it seems reasonable to think he’ll be 205 in 1.5 years.

I think this is the second instance of piggybacking another visit and might just be how good of relationships Freeman and company have with them. I’m imagining Hanafin was talking to one of the staff and they knew he was visiting Wisconsin and were just like oh come down before you drive back or fly back out and hang out, meet Golden etc. A very casual well why not? Tate did the same when he was back home a while ago.

I don’t think so. I think it had more to do with what staff was on campus than anything else. I’m not saying there’s no chance of him ending up on defense, I just wouldn’t read into this particular detail.

Yes and no it sounds like. Some of the staff was not in town. Hanafin is a true ATH recruit according to Loy. So considering Golden wasn’t hired in January, there would be a reason to get attention from the defensive staff.
