Awful. I left Chicago in 2015 and I heard from friends that even the best neighborhoods have crime concerns.
Tragic.
We left a few years ago right as it started to exacerbate. At that time there was just an uptick in petty crimes but also a huge increase in lurkers - people just hanging out and watching what was going on in the neighborhood (Lincoln Park and up into Lakeview). My dog covered a pretty large territory daily and I'm trained to notice when others are taking notice of you, so we moved before the more serious stuff started. It wasn't the reason we moved but it didn't hurt.

This is gut wrenching. Sadly, this violence is becoming less and less shocking in many pockets of the US. It’s getting to a point where if we don’t unite as a country in ways that respect difference while acting on clear principles we can agree on, particularly economically and educationally, we are going to keep sinking into this pit of despair. It’s all interconnected. That’s why all this bullshit fighting over issues that aren’t directly destroying us is absurd neglect. I clearly don’t have a solution, but what happened to the Tate family is a responsibility that meets all our doorsteps. At least, it feels that way. I’m sorry, Carnell. I hope you and your family find strength in each other and in the memory of your mother.
We have one of the Soros backed far left DA’s in Cook County and Governor Pritzker, who have helped pass bills not too require bail and to prosecute nothing but the most heinous crimes. The cops hav also had their hands tied. Cos are afraid to do their jobs for fear they will be indicted by the smallest slip up. Ths had all created a state of lawlessness never seen before n our state. It’s like the wild wild west. The crime in starting to occur in parts of the city that never had any problems. I have 2 of my kids move out of the city in areas that usd to be safe. A neighborhood in the city my daughter lives in hired off duty and retired cops to patrol their streets. It’s hat bad. And that has previously been a safe area.

The saga continues. It’s really the result of our government creating these problems in Chicago.

We had our family vacation there in 2012, We rode the "L" train all over the place (with our kids) and no issues whatsoever. It was a fantastic vacation! In today's time, no chance of me setting foot in there! Yikes!!!

Ohio States entire offense looked like trash tonight.
OSU down to its 3rd string QB. He is a true freshman who threw 5 passes this season before tonight. The second string QB was hurt in the first qtr.. the starter transferred to Syracuse recently.
