Not sure where these numbers came from but they are very far from accurate. First off I heard last year Mayer made around a Mill and Kyle Hamilton was well over a Million. Neither are on this list. Mayer will make even more this year.I wish you were right but your hope and my hope for ND in the NIL world isn't reality.
Reiterate all you want but here is data to prove you wrong. 3 total in the top 25 highest paid players in all of college with 2 Bama players in the top 10!
Bryce Young 1.8 Mil
Will Anderson 718k
Jameson Williams 365k
Hoops player JD Davison 445k
That's 16 percent of the top 25 top paid NCAA players.
So Bama is a premier program in NIL
To further disprove your point, add in that #14 is an Alabama hoops player. Bama is trying to pay for a relevant Hoops program. You better believe a hell of a lot more is funneled into Football.
What I was saying is the Bama isnt one of the Premier schools for upfront money (pay for play). A guy like Bryce Young would make bank anywhere. If He was at ND he would be making just as much money. My Argument is before NIL, many schools were paying players in one way or another. ND wasn't because they have integrity. Now that it is legal for players to make money at ND (being the biggest brand with the largest fanbase and a national TV deal) they are bringing in money.
You are crazy if you dont think a 5 star was getting paid before NIL. Now that NIL is legal they are getting paid at ND too. Granted NIL probably closes the gap more on 4 star players then 5 stars for Notre Dame because its hard to compete with over a million up front.
Again I will reiterate, Its silly to say NIL doesnt benefit ND it huge ways.
