I wish you were right but your hope and my hope for ND in the NIL world isn't reality.
Reiterate all you want but here is data to prove you wrong. 3 total in the top 25 highest paid players in all of college with 2 Bama players in the top 10!
Bryce Young 1.8 Mil
Will Anderson 718k
Jameson Williams 365k
Hoops player JD Davison 445k
That's 16 percent of the top 25 top paid NCAA players.
So Bama is a premier program in NIL

To further disprove your point, add in that #14 is an Alabama hoops player. Bama is trying to pay for a relevant Hoops program. You better believe a hell of a lot more is funneled into Football.
Not sure where these numbers came from but they are very far from accurate. First off I heard last year Mayer made around a Mill and Kyle Hamilton was well over a Million. Neither are on this list. Mayer will make even more this year.

What I was saying is the Bama isnt one of the Premier schools for upfront money (pay for play). A guy like Bryce Young would make bank anywhere. If He was at ND he would be making just as much money. My Argument is before NIL, many schools were paying players in one way or another. ND wasn't because they have integrity. Now that it is legal for players to make money at ND (being the biggest brand with the largest fanbase and a national TV deal) they are bringing in money.

You are crazy if you dont think a 5 star was getting paid before NIL. Now that NIL is legal they are getting paid at ND too. Granted NIL probably closes the gap more on 4 star players then 5 stars for Notre Dame because its hard to compete with over a million up front.

Again I will reiterate, Its silly to say NIL doesnt benefit ND it huge ways.

I dont understand how the lure of "come to ND and become a legend by bringing us back. And you'll get the degree and plenty of NIL"

doesn't work better with KK types then...

"Come to Bama and be another cog in the machine while earning a little more NIL"

But im not the one hearing the pitches. Im sure they're crazy alluring.
I suspect he’s also hearing from his peers that are Bama commits telling him how they’re playing the game to benefit themselves and win NCs. Isn’t Keon’s uncle directing his recruitment now? That probably steered him down a different path and the current Bama commits sealed the deal once the NIL package was laid out.

Lol cog in the machine that cracks out conference and national championships on the regular as well as consistent nfl draft picks.

This is exactly what every 5* kid grows up dreaming about.

No... I get it. I'm just saying ND can pitch, come here and help is get back to glory and be a legend. The kid will be immortal in ND lore if he is one of the guys that helps us close the gap and win a Natty.

At Bama, you'll get a gold watch and a pat on the butt for a job well done.

That’s not accurate.

We’re still talking about Alabama and Nick Saban. This isn’t Miami, Tennessee, Oregon, or even A&M.
How can you disprove or disprove that the NIL isn't the deciding factor? I'm referring to the timeline for my theory. So to say it's not accurate is an opinion statement. These are all opinions but the point of saga here is ND is losing out on these players is very highly likely bc of NIL. I hope there is a cap to NIL to even the

It's f*cking ridiculous how many "uncles" come out of nowhere at the very last minute and then recruitments change.

Which begs the question, “Where is dad in all of this?”
I’ve seen mom on Twitter and she was reportedly a big fan of Keon committing to ND. Now, it’s crickets. May pops isn’t on social media like mom?

I'm starting to think that "uncle", particularly in the NIL era, is code for a lawyer/advisor that is chasing the bag.

ND alumni and fans seriously need to step up. Quinn's FUND is cute and all, but we need to get with the times. Surely there are some wealthy alumni and fans who can start a competitive collective, right?

Yeah, I think it's pretty clear that uncle is typically an "uncle" as opposed to an uncle.

Why don't we chip in, start and IE Collective. It might be small, but we could help right? Set up a Venmo or Go Fund me type thing?

It's not about how much money ND has.
They could have a billion dollars in fuND but it won't matter unless ND starts offering upfront deals. Which, they shouldn't.

It would need to be done under the radar, because ND doesn't approve of pay-for-play and would likely take legal action to shut down any sort of collective started by fans. Thus the need for a few willing boosters with deep pockets who can make the proper back-channel calls without any traceable ties to the university.

Yes I suppose I don’t know 100%. Neither do you know 100% on your statement, so seems like a without needing to be said point. If either was a fact it wouldn’t need discussing.

We’re just waiting on Hayes Fawcett to make a decommitment graphic at this point IMO

As of yesterday, I no longer consider him a commit. Can't blame the kid and his family for wanting to get paid. This is life changing $$$ for 99.9% of recruit families and more than most will earn in a lifetime. The average NFL career is a few years, if you even make it that far, so get paid when you can.

Saban's misdirection with TAMU was brilliant. For all his old man "I don't like things changing" bit you knew he was going to adapt to NIL and make sure he had every resource available to him in order to stay ahead of the pack.

On what grounds? We want to pay Keon to advertise IE on his social media accounts. How would ND have any say about that?
