They have to try everyone at Nickel to see what they have or don’t have there

Matt Freeman said he’s had an up and down summer coming back from finishing up school work, and is primarily practicing at nickel which is a surprise to me.
Dear Matt

Please remove your wet blanket and allow us to continue to view him as a first round pick

I'll be honest... watching the second video on the opening page, I don't see someone better than Gray. I see a guy who gets beat and doesn't turn his head, most plays made in the highlight video is because he's going against subpar QBs in a shitty conference.

II podcast (I think it was O'Malley) said after looking over the stats last year that statistically he's essentially identical to Gray except that he gets a lot less penalties. Since Gray gets a lot of those but is otherwise a quality D1 starter, that's what I'm hoping for. Anything beyond that would be icing.

No surprise he's been up and down to anyone whoever competed at the P4 level. He hasn't played any "real" Football since Nov 1 coupled with finishing up the academic load.

He'll be fine in September.

Funny how different sources have different info. O’Malley and Brice both have McKinney as one of the top stars of the summer

How many practices have these guys viewed this summer?

If you're asking about Matt Freeman? Zero.
If you're asking about Tim O'Malley? Zero.
If you're asking about John Brice? Zero.

They all have sources within the program who have seen them though.

McKinney > Gray
Not really that close. Technique isn't lost after 1 sec of play and instincts are solid. A better nickel, boundary, or field corner than Gray.

Wouldn't surprise me if Sanders wins the job and McKinney provides valuable depth and doubles at both field and nickel.

How much of the mixed reviews is because ND actually has good WRs now?
They also said that they haven’t seen him. These reports are coming from “sources.” The way they talked about it, I didn’t feel like they were actually buying into the whole struggling reviews.

that was the point they made on the pod, also McKinney hasnt played in a while and is coming off injury and missed spring because he was still enrolled at Colorado

Thanks. I haven't listened to the last few as it's seemingly been a mix of repetitive questions and ads for Zen AI.

If we're supposed to have the best secondary in the country, they SHOULD be locking up our WR's most of the time.
