I saw Price got five snaps yesterday. Was he hurt or did they bench him after the fumble?

As for Sneed, yeah don't know what to do with him. Good athlete but he's not good enough an inside linebacker to see the field right now.

Price was benched after the fumble.

Don’t think Price is going anywhere. The opportunities are there but he needs to protect the football.

It was one fumble. I would bet 100$ that if Love fumbled he would be right back out there.

And his isn’t getting many touches due to our QB that’s is a below average in the passing game. So they are going to take rushing attempts from the running backs.

I don't think Sneed is terrible or anything, but Bowen and Ausberry have both been notably much better.

Sneed is a niche player. You can't ask him to play WILL or MIKE. He's best attacking down the line of scrimmage or shooting a gap. He's excelled in that role. And unfortunately for him, ND has too much young talent at LB for the staff to just throw Sneed in a bad position and hope over time he gets better.

I don't like not getting Price back in there TBH. He's been too good for us to just sit him.

While Price has had some home run ability, he also has a harder time finding the hole and following his blocks compared to Love. Price likes to kick it outside or reverse back for yardage and it isn't always successful.

Best example is the A&M game, he had 8 carries for 44 yards, a respectable 5.5 YPC at the end of the day...but if you take away his big 47 yard run it means he had 7 carries for -3 yards. He's feast or famine.

Love, on the other hand, had 14 carries for 91 yards, 6.5 YPC. If you take away Love's busted run of 29 yards he's still got 4.7 YPC. He's just more consistent and does the right things while still being a tremendous playmaker.

It was either Brice or Prister who mentioned Price had more negative runs than positive.

This is kinda what is supposed to happen when you consistently recruit a position at a high level. Some dudes won’t pan out but those that do are studs. ND has managed to do this at LB, DB, TE, RB and OL (to a lesser extent).

QB? TBD I suppose.

WR? Definite no.

DL? Hard to say with all the injuries.

I suspect an off-season transfer. He wants to play more but is not better than others in the LB room. I don't think he'll be content as being a sub-package player, and only being utilized in a specific role. He'll have two seasons of eligibility remaining so he can go somewhere, maybe G5, get on the field more, be the best athlete on defense, and maybe try to work himself into being a full-time player.

But, I don't think ND will have that patience when they have dudes (that are younger - key point here) that they trust more. Bowen, Ausberry, KVA all have a better feel for the game at LB. More younger guys are there behind them, too.

Probably not, but if they use him as a 3rd down edge guy, he could see a lot of action.

Hopefully he gets his degree either way

Clear example of that was playing against us this past Saturday. Jacorey Brooks was a consensus five-star player when he signed with Bama, but get passed over by other guys. It happens, even to the big boys.

I think the Navy/Stanford/Army games are going to be the true test of his development. He has the ability to wreck those games we just need to see it. He is a rover not a mike or will.

I think Sneeds biggest issue is football IQ and instinctiveness are both relatively low compared to others. If he had either the IQ or natural ability to react, along with his athleticism, he'd be special. But he seems frozen/lost/stuck on blocks.

I think we are all in agreement that Sneed is not best suited to play Mike or Will (inside backer). Sneed is at his best as an edge defender. Let him get downhill and rush the passer and chase the ball down from the backside. Let Sneed play a similar role as Mika Parsons.
he would get folded like a deck chair on run plays if he lined up on the edge
