OSU will offer soon. We sure it's not them?

I've followed this kid for a couple of years now and I made a note when his Dad changed his profile pic to this one below after a 2019 game they attended.

It's still the same today.

I read somewhere that if ND ever offered, they'd be the team to beat. I'll stick with that until I read different.

Creeper

6'8" 330lbs seems like a perfect LT, but his 3 star rating says OG. Any idea on if he's being recruited for T or G?

I'd bet tackle. Just from watching film and if that size is legit, tackle.

You don't see him pull much in his film; his size is used for down blocking. He can get second level, but until I see him pull more, I think he'd get lost as a guard in space. His length alone makes up for a lot of "lack of athleticism" or whatever people want to say in regards to him being rated lower. Feet don't have to be as good if your arms are long enough.

Not to mention, there are definitely some plays in there where he looks plenty athletic for 6'8" 330. He just needs molded.

My thoughts too.

Could have a similar career as Josh Lugg. If you'd have told me Lugg would've played OG & OC in his Irish career after his Opening performance, I'd have lol'd in your face.

Lugg was my go to comparison as well. Albeit, if Baer is a legit 6'8" he's an even bigger fellow.

Tommy Rees is just waiting to install the 'rollouts only' offense. Doesn't matter how tall your QB is when he's never throwing from the pocket!

Well not until the Mitchdozer gets moved from TE to QB. Ya heard it here first.

OR

Maybe Tommy's had enough of fans/media getting on him about not throwing over the middle? The remedy? A 6-3 center flanked by 6-6, 6-7, 6-8 OL's. They only lane will be over the top of Zeke's lid. If so, Mayer leads the nation with 105 rec.

I agree, I think it goes even more for Kristofic.

And that's the point. You can tell they don't want to play Lugg at OT--they want someone more athletic. But they jut don't think he is comfortable or productive at OG.

I think the same will apply here.

We're handing out awards to "longliveautrydenson"?
Doesn't sound too reliable of a poster based on his name :p

The Good

1. Notre Dame’s all-time leading rusher.
2. Zero fumbles by RBs during his coaching tenure.
3. Gave us Kyren Williams as a parting gift.

The Bad

1. Hated recruiting 4 star RBs.
2. Did not know recruits could have 5 stars.

The Ugly

1. Thought sending recruits daily motivational quotes from an Apple store app qualified as recruiting.

This is hilarious and too true. Love Denson tho regardless

Eh, I don't know about hating 4 star RB's. 3 of his 6 RB recruits were 4 star prospects. Tony Jones Jr., CJ Holmes, and Kyren Williams.

Of the other 3, 3 stars, C'Bo and Deon McIntosh proved to be pretty good evals. He wasn't a stellar recruiter by any stretch but it's hardly as bad as people make it sound. The real problem was that 2 of the 6 got kicked out of school. If Deon, specifically, was around in 2018/2019 it probably feels a little different. Guy has played 3 seasons of P5 football and averages 6 yds/carry.

Eh, the highest rated RB under Autry was CJ Holmes whose composite rating was 0.90. We’d be apoplectic if Jeff Quinn landed one player marginally over 90 in 3-4 years. Autry deserves credit for landing contributors and helping them maximize their potential, but with the exception of Kyren Williams he didn’t land any difference makers.

Neither are relevant to what I responded too. You said 4 stars and he landed 3 4 stars out of 6 recruits.

ND’s blue chip ratio was 56% last year. He’d have been at 50% for his 6 recruits. That’s hardly as terrible as people make it sound relative to the roster.

It is terrible. Not a single one of the six was a consensus four star prospect. CJ Holmes and Tony Jones were 3 stars on 247. Kyren Williams was a 3 star on Rivals (he was also a 3 star on 247 when he committed). That’s inexcusably bad, especially when we had Joe Moore-level offensive lines that we could pitch to recruits.

Cancelled Tennessee OV to change ND unofficial to a official.
