“Dynamic speed and playmaking ability.” That’s what Brian Kelly was calling for during the 2018 and 2019 Early Signing Period press conferences as it relates to what the Irish will be targeting going forward.

That’s why Billy Bowman makes perfect sense as the latest addition to the 2021 board.

A two-way star at Ryan High School in Denton, Texas, a plausible argument could be made that cornerback could be his position at the next level. But as a slot receiver, this kid is a nightmare to cover.

Quick and shifty off the line with excellent body control and acceleration, Bowman will be able to take on a lot of jobs in whichever offense he signs with, assuming he ends up on that side of the ball.

From screens to reverse passes to wheel routes, his film is as entertaining as they come. And without a doubt, a future as a return specialist feels certain.

A smart offer from the Irish. It’s only a matter of time before his list expands a great deal.

EJ put in a FC for Bowman to Texas. He said there is big news coming Wednesday but he said it could mean a top 10 or something like that. If he does commit to Texas that kind of sucks for ND since there was mutual interest there and 2020 has some questionable choices in the secondary. also it is still early . . .

Yea, that didn't work out for us, but he ended up back here at UNT and had decent numbers, and is in camp with the Cowboys. Played HS with Kyler Murray on powerhouse Allen HS in metro Dallas.

OU is the perceived leader. Their defense has been trash since Bowman was in preschool though so there's that.

I'm so conflicted on the Big 12. Obviously, their offenses are great. But are their defenses that bad or are their offenses so good that it makes any defense look like crap? Take OU's top (4 and 5 star) defensive recruits (pos and pos rank) for instance:

I watch a lot of big 12 football. Their defenses are flat out bad save for TCU and at some points Baylor. Iowa state was considered a respectable d in that conference last year and we could have score a 1000 on them if we wanted to. OU cant hang in the playoffs because their defense can't get a stop. If Texas had a semblance of a defense they'd be a 10 win team this year.

In regards to star rankings, go check out the nfl. Its not littered with guys from the big 12 in the front 7. Texas has pumped out a lot of good dbs but that's about the extent of it.
