With Josh Moore from Marist being offered it would seem like Perry is even further from an offer. I still think they should take 2 so I’m going to holdout hope.

Read about his UCLA and SDSU days and then ask this.

2010 Class
.9684 4* Anthony Barr
.9291 4* Aramide Olaniyan
.9042 4* Jordan Zumwalt
.8622 3* Eric Kendricks

2011 Class
.8538 3* Aaron Wallace
.8307 3* Ryan Hofmeister
.8037 3* Mike Orloff

Two full recruiting cycles at UCLA he had a decent run. 2 Pro Bowlers in one recruiting class is pretty damn special. Idk SDSU or Syracuse or Bowling Green or Wake Forest but he’s a hell of a DC so I don’t really care. Hope he can recruit well but I just hope he has the numbers to coach up.

I hate asking this, but is he just lazy as a recruiter?

Talked to an old friend who coaches at Snider HS here in Ft Wayne when be was named the DC.....Lea is a tireless recruiter, and does very well with parents and coaches. My friend was Jessie Bates position coach at Snider so he had quite a few meetings with Lea and Elko. Said they were both great coaches, but Lea was very energetic when it came to recruiting.

He just played a pivotal role in landing a nationally recruited 4 star CB. So I wouldn’t call him lazy. Had a pretty unique presentation prepared for him, apparently.

For the record, I wasn't calling him lazy. I was just curious based on how LB recruiting has played out.

And while he hasn’t offered Perry, he did just offer Josh Moore at Rover. I realize we all want Perry to get an offer but hard argue with Lea if he liked Moore more than Perry. Moore looks like he could be a really good Rover prospect.

I would say we just don't understand what he is doing. He has offered Braelon Allen for the 22 class and at 215 he will be a line backer. Is 185 too small for rover?

I`d say pretty well since he has been at ND. What am i missing here?

We didn't get any LBs last year (unless he gets Mayer to play LB) and we didn't offer Cody Simon which confused sports fans. So everyone is hanging on the LB recruiting this year because having a gap of 2 years seems like madness.
My personal opinion is Lea is just thinking well ahead of us.

6-2/185 is the prototype Rover recruit going into their senior year

Wouldn't surprise me. Even with recruiting insiders and such, I suspect we would be quite surprised at was happening behind the scenes. There are many will feel good about recruiting only if we offer every kid coming out of HS.

Wasn't it well hased out that we didn'tplan on taking a LB last year..?

Confused sports fans? The fact That "spotrs fans" think their opinion matters will never stop blowing my mind.

Offers (25): Western Michigan, Ball State, Iowa State, Temple, Louisville, Cincinnati, Kent State, Toledo, Georgia Tech, BC, Buffalo, Syracuse, Mizzou, Kansas St, Bowling Green, Indiana, Purdue, Northwestern, Nebraska, Minnesota, West Virginia, Michigan St, Duke, Illinois, Colorado

Top 7: Cincinnati, Illinois, Iowa State, Louisville, Michigan St, Minnesota, Northwestern
247: 93
Rivals: 5.6
ESPN: 79

Certainly a 3 star offer list and top 7. BUT 247 loves him and Crus loves him so I'm hopeful ND recruits him, flips him, offers him or whatever.

I’m going to tell myself that everyone else passed on him as well. And that will keep some of my hair from being pulled out.

We took Khari Gee and Walters instead. That’ll be a fun comparison. Good news bad news on Khari. He has some really nice size to him. 6’1 7/8, 195lbs. Plus, he’s got the body to fill out quite a bit. Bad news, Jamie U said he’s noticeably stiffer than the other DB’s. Sounds like Rover it is. Which, I’m fine with because I think we need to fill in the Rover spot with Kollie inside.

But, damn, Perry would be perfect for ‘22. BRUTAL

He's been a growin, 6'2 212 now. UL's school site lists him as a DB but the 247 article talking of his transfer says LB. Didn't watch them so I have no idea where/what position he played.
