What he adds to this team when healthy is invaluable as a playcaller. Kinda kid that Sean McVay loves at WR.
He's definitely a Swiss army knife of a player. Excellent move blocker. Imo, he's not maximizing how explosive/ fast he can be at his current weight tho. What he adds to this team when healthy is invaluable as a playcaller. Kinda kid that Sean McVay loves at WR.
I agree, I dont see him as a burner/explosive player even if he were to lose 10 lbs. It’s just not who he is. I think he benefits more from his size and strength as the perfect possession receiver and a reliable 3rd down guy who will pop a 20-30 yd play here and there. I also dont think he’s carrying bad weight. He also wears pretty large pads for a WR.He was the reason that I initially thought we'd be OK at WR this last season. I thought with his strength and Sam's ability to place the ball, we'd have an uber-good mid-range receiver --- then the injury problems went on and on. FWIW, I thought that he was fine (and a bit terrorizing) at his current size.
Would he be like that dude from Georgia? With his size we need to use him as a TE or flex more.
He could be a H Back. I think be could be a smaller version of Tommy Tremble in some schemes. But idk if Denbrock will use 12 pers like thatWould he be like that dude from Georgia?
Nah… bowers was generational te in college. Bigger stronger maybe even faster than Thomas with elite hands and route running.Would he be like that dude from Georgia?
If ND had a TE depth chart that covered the last 4 years, Bowers would be 4th string. Mayer, Kmet, Evans, Bowers.Nah… bowers was generational te in college. Bigger stronger maybe even faster than Thomas with elite hands and route running.
Thomas is a very fluid athlete that will be at this best with a lot of talent around him (should be this year) helping him get open. I love his after the catch abilities
Kmet’s a bit over rated but the other 3 are quality. If ND had a TE depth chart that covered the last 4 years, Bowers would be 4th string. Mayer, Kmet, Evans, Bowers.
Go root for every other team and leave this board.
Mic drop.

Why’s that?Kmet’s a bit over rated but the other 3 are quality.
Oh here we goWhy’s that?
Just curious what makes Kmet overrated vs Evans being quality. Kmet had a better junior year and has gone on the have a decent NFL career. I think most would hope Evans can gone on to do the same.Oh here we go
In that comment is what I see as the over rated ness.Just curious what makes Kmet overrated vs Evans being quality. Kmet had a better junior year and has gone on the have a decent NFL career. I think most would hope Evans can gone on to do the same.
Kmet had 100 more yards and 5 more tds jr yearIn that comment is what I see as the over rated ness.
Kmet had one really good game against Georgia and several okay games. I already think Evans has had a better college career than Kmet. He had a better season in 23 than any of Kmets seasons.

Evans is good but Kmet more talented. I don’t think Evans has the athleticism to do much in the nfl
He definitely has the hands but what te in the top half of the nfl starting te list do you think Evans is comparable to? I just think he’s a little too slow for nfl.If Evans stays healthy, I see him as a guaranteed NFL starter and in the top half in the League. He's got IT when it comes to what makes a TE successful in the NFL passing game.
I'm not gonna go through the entire list of NFL TE's who I think Evans is measurably equal to but I can tell you Mark Andrews who went to my kid's HS was a high 4.6 guy at the combine and Evans is basically his exact same size and as a converted HS QB, didn't benefit from being a converted WR with an elite HS QB to get him reps.He definitely has the hands but what te in the top half of the nfl starting te list do you think Evans is comparable to? Slipperiness is key for Evans. He’s so fluid for his size and uses it to his advantage breaking tacklesI'm not gonna go through the entire list of NFL TE's who I think Evans is measurably equal to but I can tell you Mark Andrews who went to my kid's HS was a high 4.6 guy at the combine and Evans is basically his exact same size and as a converted HS QB, didn't benefit from being a converted WR with an elite HS QB to get him reps.
TJ Hockenson, Dalton Kincaid, Dalton Schultz, Cole Kmet in the same 4.7 area code.
Jake Ferguson & Tyler Conklin were 4.8+
Dallas Goedert is so slow he wouldn't run a 40.
Besides athleticism Evans is the kind of guy who bails out QB's with his hands and he's slippery after the catch. If he's healthy, I think he's gonna shine on Sundays.
I just think Evans is significantly less athletic than every te you just mentionedI'm not gonna go through the entire list of NFL TE's who I think Evans is measurably equal to but I can tell you Mark Andrews who went to my kid's HS was a high 4.6 guy at the combine and Evans is basically his exact same size and as a converted HS QB, didn't benefit from being a converted WR with an elite HS QB to get him reps.

Bowers would be behind MayerKmet’s a bit over rated but the other 3 are quality.
Love the effort, team player. He did miss his first block on the DB, but he didn't quit and the LB was tougher to block. He put him in the dirt.
