Never did I think ND football would out portal OSU but here we are. McCord is leaving and they have no replacement.

Marvin Harrison Jr seems to want to stay, but he doesn’t have anyone to throw him in the ball. If he’s seriously contemplating one more year of college, it would be hilarious if he did it somewhere else.
After how the coach and the OSU fans ran McCord out of town after having a great season and going 11-1 would any QB want to go into that environment?

And people out there still try to convince themselves that they’re “amateurs”

Exactly.

He probably has the respect of quite a few of his teammates, but that's not going to matter anymore. The Portal is a two way street. These coaches are going to start running their programs like NFL August training camps. You can just discard a guy knowing he will either stay and rot on the bench or he can just leave and give you another scholarship to play with.

Ryan Day is walking down the path of becoming John Cooper, and he's not going to allow that to occur when he can avoid it simply by telling McCord "Start looking around because we're already doing the same."

The icing on the cake would be Marvin Harrison staying in College for entering the portal.

RL better hurry up and get here because Rittenberg says that Notre Dame will never win another national title until it has an elite quarterback, and that’s been a problem there. To be fair, he's spot on with everything he says - that QB and WR are areas we've yet to get elite players and that we better do so via the portal as well as recruiting to get there. Now come on RL... We're waiting (impatiently!)

Day told McCord that there would be open competition leading up to the bowl and to expect both QB's to play regardless who 'starts'. allegedly his Dad was SUPER pissed and essentially made the decision for him to transfer.

Word around the campfire is his Dad is a super prick.

Which is ridiculous when you consider he took every meaningful snap of their season. Day has a bug up his ass because he lost to Michigan again because he coached like a dickweed. There really was no QB situation here to be had, so in creating one, you're basically telling McCord to start walking.

McCord was pretty good. Wasn't as good as Haskins, Fields or Stroud but he was good. They don't go 11-1 with Devin Brown most likely. Not that we'll know because he didn't play a meaningful down all year.

This is the new normal, though.

Idk. I thought McCord was average at best, and they won 11 games despite McCord. Two first round picks at wide receiver and a great defense was wasted.

In combination with the help of DI Brown he was great on the last drive against ND

Holy shit, that is terrible leadership. If Brown had somehow forced a competition in practice, you announce it going into next season and MAYBE have a quick hook (wimbush v book '18 Citrus Bowl) in the bowl to get an early look. It's a New Year's Six though, so why the fuck are they tinkering. Have there been reports from practice that Brown was outplaying McCord (Tua v Hurts)?

I don't blame McCord's dad for being pissed, he should stay the fuck out of it, but whatever, his son is being treated with a decent amount of disrespect by pOSU.

At this point, I feel like Brody on Seinfeld.

I don't care about Brody. I was up on Eddy Street today, there was an IE member who couldn't have been more than fifty years old. He was asking a street vendor if he had any other commitment videos as good as Daelin Haeyes' Dark Knight. That's who I care about.
