Indeed he did.
Irish still top 2 for JJones, will take officials
Brown had a great visit, need him to take officials to overcome USC
Gayles will take an official, big move there.
Lead for Brennan Lacey
Good.
I am nervous.
That sucks. Fingers crossed he holds off.
Great
Interesting

We're after some really big fish again in this cycle so expect some victories come later down the road and expect our share of disappointing defeats as well. Such is the reality when your recruit the nation's best... Especially when teams (via their collectives) can write blank checks.

Still looking for a composite score north of 300 points... Anything less than about 290 points would be a fail, IMO.

Sounds about right. Some of it will obviously depend on individual moves up and down the rankings, as well as of ND is able to net a couple trophy fish late using the momentum of what we hope is a dominant season.

We also don't know who could announce a re-classification from 2028 to 2027 and tye role that might play.,

When we're 10-0 down the stretch, new guys will emerge as well. I'm not worried at all about where we stand. USC falls apart and someone will come into our lap.
This. 100%. I've learned not to question the staff after I admittedly freaked out a tiny bit (a lot) early during the transfer portal. Leonard Moore was a 3 star as well. This staff will get the most out of the guys we have. And will elevate those that we may not think will be great players. It's a great time to be a fan of this team.

For the record, this 23 man class would score 297.29 and it would involve a lot of misses. So I'm optimistic that ND will do better than the following:

QB: Peter Bourque
RB: Lathan Whisenton
RB: Isaiah Rogers
WR: Julian Caldwell
WR: Cade Cooper
TE: Jaxon Dollar
OL: Richie Flanigan
OL: James Halter
OL: Layton Von Brandt
OL: Luke Starcevic
DE: Abraham Sesay
DE: Aidan O'Neal
DE/DT: Alifeleti Tuihalamaka
DT: Brayden Parks
DT: David Folorunsho
LB: Sean Fox
LB: Amarri Irvin
CB: Xavier Hasan
CB: Ace Alston
S: Khalil Terry
S: Gavin Wilkiams
S/NB: Zayden Gamble
LS: Sean Kraft

IMO, that class is 1 WR, 1DL and 1 DB short.

I'm a bit worried about the trend of LB recruiting. It's been solid, but seems like we haven't had a difference maker like KVA/Bowen/Faraimo recently. Curious what others think

I mean, Faraimo is just starting his second year at ND so when you say recently, you mean last year? I think it’s fair to be in wait and see mode about last years class at LB, missed on the top of the board guys. This year, there’s one kid committed and the staff loves him, he’s a stud. Could it get better? Sure, but I wouldn’t lose sleep over the position.

Fair - I should've clarified. I don't think either of the LB's we signed last year are difference makers and I don't feel great about where the board is for this year. Compound that with losing Bowen, Sneed, and potentially KVA after this year and the room gets pretty thin.

For the others commenting, I'm not panicking yet lol

All seems fair, especially in comparison to how they’ve recruited the other levels on defense.

Glass half full, LB is the least important level of the three, and as long as Freeman (former LB) is there and hands on with the position, I’m fine.

I think Folorunshu might be the only “can’t miss” guy in the class. We recruited well enough everywhere last year, but we need to consistently be better at DT.

I’m here as well, him and Parks are key

Moore was a composite 4*

I think the "can't miss" guys we missed on. At least so far it's trending that way. Many (outside of Rivals) would say we're actively recruiting better players at the position than Folorunsho.

Apparently was recently predicted to TT. Not sure if true or not.

This not sure how you lose Brown whose all the way on the East coast to USC.

USC landed the #6 overall player in the 2026 class and the #2 overall DE, Luke Wafle, out of the Hun School in New Jersey. Brown would represent the second cycle in a row they've went to the East Coast for a big time DE. Money talks!
