Wiltfong with a similar update as Loy on Graham..

ND still pushing hard, still hearing that ND leads. Same narrative from Graham's camp in the AM.

They been playing together since high school minus one year Smith was at IMG. At some point one would think that they would understand that they have to do what’s best for themselves individually. I hope if they end up at tOSU, the Buckeyes had to seriously overpay to make it happen.
I’m gonna be as honest and open as possible,… Given my first hand experience now with multiple schools,… never underestimate (or for some of us forget) the sheer ridiculous lack of maturity some college aged males have… especially among talented football players.

Think that depends on the injury.

Schedule is cake next year. If he's out for the year, sure.

But, a couple of games? Gimme a band-aid, win some walk-overs, and keep on trucking until CJ gets back.

An experienced backup would be good insurance.
Very reasonable take. The "pay some money for an experienced player in case he gets a concussion" makes sense.

ND offense saw the highest PPG and YPP efficiency it's seen in 25+ years just this past season....
Right.. and adding a guy like Porter & possibly Graham with the current WR room for what will be an even further progressed Carr is a home run..

We’ve all seem what Aneyas can do in limited time so be expectation is high there.. the question in that room is who takes the other reps?

James is the obvious guess unless Kedren is fully healthy & if so I expect him to play the role of Price.

The OL is in good shape & it seems were looking for one of the Flan(i)(a)gans to break out at TE with Washington adding depth.

I think that offense surpasses last years numbers mainly bc of how much more comfortable Carr will be.

Absolutely incorrect.

Landing a portal DT has always been a $$$ matter for 2025 and previously. The studs go to the pros. They will get DT’s.

ND landed a 5 star WR freshman from the portal from OSU. This player left OSU to get more money from ND. This player sees ND as a legitimate option to get him to the NFL. These are not realities we were living in last week.

A 5 star WR freshman using NIL and playing time as a selling point. This can not be understated. If he hits this alters the trajectory of the WR position at ND in the present and future. Another Dawson or Dawson+ does not fundamentally change the DT position. They will sign a DT, if they don’t, mods please ban me until the Wiscy game.

Singer update (most of which is already known)

RE Brewu

Suppose to head to Indiana after the dead period (Thursday). Believes he will come off the board today. Still giving Irish the edge.
Won ‘t IU be in Miami by Thursday?

Here's my thought on backup QB -- if CJ Carr gets hurt, the season is already over.

I am I crazy or should we be spending $0 on a QB?
I think you're right even though it was brought to my attention (here on IE) that Chambliss was the backup. I think the schedule for next year is built in a way that we can lose CJ for a couple games (not Miami) and still win with the guys on the roster. If they can find someone who wants to be part of something special and is willing to come on the cheap for a degree and a chance a a Natty great. If not, I'd almost roll the dice as well.

I usually only like rubbing my nipples to big, thick men, but I just want to see enough quality depth on the DL.
So does everyone else. That isn't my point.

Nobody knew who Brewu was two weeks ago let alone when he was a recruit. His recruiting profile is one that most would not have been excited about. Full stop. Undersized, three star, Ohio kid without an offer from Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State.

Right now, he's the one guy that everyone here wants in The Portal. Things change pretty fast.

I personally would like to wait and see what the offense looks like w/o Love and Price, tbh. Not saying it'll be trash. I'm just keeping my expectations in check. Worth noting though, the schedule aligns for some massive numbers and combined with a "revenge tour," my skepticism may be a bit unwarranted.

Oh, I noticed him when we played Pitt. He was the only guy on their DL who gave our OL any trouble.
