I for one support ND's new approach of not pushing for early commits and also waiting out the house settlement. Effective at recruiting? Who knows. Effective at making IE panic? Hell yeah

We have a very solid 7 commits with zero reaches, unlike last class in the spring. Faison could have been considered as reach, but USCs and UF's interest show we were smart to jump all over him early. We're at a 91.3 avg player rating on 247 even with him being criminally underated as our worst commit.

Its obvious they are being more selective at this point. They deserve the benefit of the doubt, and WR recruiting should just be a battle to somehow get 2 4 stars considering the production there.

Yeah. All those 2023 and 2024 commits that played this year are clearly scrubs
Exactly this we had the second highest snaps from Freshman in 2024 and going to a playoff, and we played a ton of redshirt Freshman/Sophs. Future is bright

Not a great sign when you go to the Natty & can’t sniff the top 50 recruits in the following years class.

Our WR recruiting has been atrocious for over 10 years now.. Tate, Floyd, Claypool & Lenzy..

I mean.. You almost have to put in effort to recruit the position this bad 😂

We’re clearly not competing at the top level in NIL

Oddly enough though, we should be better on paper this coming year..

Hopefully Fields & Pauling can open up the passing game a bit.. Does Cam Williams grow into a threat? Gilbert? With Faison & Greathouse leading the charge & a clear #1 QB that will be automatically be a better passer than Riley, maybe we show the recruits something to look forward to.

But in the end, the money still matters & if we don’t compete against the big boys we’re always going to be looking for an upset.

Just get the kid on campus. If we're still struggling after the official visit season I'll get concerned. Until then all of these verbals are soft verbals at best

John Brice seems to think that the run up to the Natty will have an impact on the 2027 class. I have no doubt that he heard that, but that is stupid. If this were another program top 10-ish program that had that type of season, their insiders would be told that it would have a big impact immediately on the 2026 class. So basically this might mean that ND would have to repeat their 2024 season in order to keep the momentum. If ND goes 9-3 and misses the CFP, or goes 10-2/11-1 and loses in the 1st round, there is a real chance they could lose the "momentum."

Guys I know we dump on him. But Driskall had a good podcast talking about this. Admits work needs to be done. But new recruiting staff is taking time. Also mentioned previous guys (Bowden and some coaches) were willing to take lower ceiling players and then dump them later. Shifting away from that.

Does anyone know if we are going after Joey O'Brien as a WR or DB? He had 1029 Yards and 12 TDS this past year.

In today's NIL era, it is hard to find athletes who want to be STUDENT-athletes...
